Business Growth Prompts Move To New Premises For
Autograph Sales & Installations
Following a dozen years in north London’s Tufnell Park, Autograph Sales & Installations are moving to new, larger premises across town in Park Royal....
Technical Sales Manager Chris Austin comments, “Our former home has been good for us but the move has been driven by organic growth of the Sales & Installations business. We are busier than ever before, with a larger staff and more daily activities that have to be accommodated.”
“The new building gives us much more room for fabrication and preparing projects prior to delivery and allows us to hold more stock. Crucially, it also expands our training spaces, a value-adding function that’s become increasingly important with the range of digital mixing and networked audio systems we’re supplying every day.”
He concludes, “The move will be complete and we will be fully open for business at the new site on Monday 27th February. It’s a very exciting move for us and naturally we’ll be happy to show visitors round once we’ve settled in!”
All existing telephone numbers and other contact details are unchanged. The new address for Autograph Sales & Installations is Autograph Sales & Installations, Unit 12 Alliance Court, Alliance Road, London, W3 0RB.
Our friends at Meyer Sound in Berkeley have produced a feature item on our work with the University Of Sussex, which you can see on the Meyer Sound website
The project was also covered by Lighting & Sound International, whose article you can see on page 42 in the link below....
The objectives of the facility are summarised by the University as follows:
"The goal of the Sussex Humanities Lab Research Programme is to transform humanities research in the digital age – to find new ways to explore the human condition and to critically assess the cultural and the social and material worlds we make with technology. The Lab’s contention is that the humanities are essential to re-imagining what is possible, and rethinking ‘what is to be done’ in a digital age. By crafting a distinctive contribution to the expanded field of the digital humanities both nationally and internationally, and by intensifying the Sussex research culture the Lab seeks to bolster new forms of humanities scholarship, and to build broader cross-disciplinary links – for instance between computational scholars, humanities scholars and social science researchers."
"The Digital Humanities Lab space has been built with the research programme in mind. It has been designed to be open, flexible and with excellent technical facilities. It has the flexibility to be adaptable for an imaginative range of collaborative research activity – fabbing, hacking, book-sprinting (collaborative writing) and for showcasing digital humanities work – eg performances, installations, and other practice-based research."
The project was managed by our own Peppe Mallozzi and includes equipment from Meyer Sound, DiGiCo, QSC, Denon, Shure, Sony, Samsung and others.
Edinburgh-based equipment hire and event production company Blue Parrot Ltd have just taken delivery of a large consignment of Aviom equipment, supplied by Autograph Sales & Installations.
A total of 14 Aviom A320 personal mixers were delivered along with two D400 A-Net distributors allowing configuration as either two smaller systems or one large one. Autograph also supplied two of DiGiCo’s dedicated Aviom cards which allow direct integration with their existing SD10 and S21... mixing consoles.
Blue Parrot’s Mike Somerville commented, “I was very familiar with Aviom from the beginning - it is extremely user friendly and impressively easy to set up. We now have a high demand from the shows we service in theatres all over Scotland that require personal mixing and it seemed silly not to just buy some.”
Mike concludes, “I have been in touch with Ben (Tredwell) for a couple of years now, however this is the first time we have actually bought anything from Autograph, and what a pleasure it was. I naturally got costings from elsewhere before buying and Ben was able to match these prices instantly - nothing was too much hassle. Autograph will now be our first contact for audio sales in the future.”
“The sound of it, too, is unrelentingly gorgeous and stirring, whether it’s solos or rousing communal outpourings.”
Extremely proud of our Sound designers - Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster today.
A moment of quiet reflection before the opening night of The Girls at the Phoenix Theatre.
Great work by Autograph's Sound designers Terry Jardine + Nick Lidster, and PSE Anna Newton.
Have a great night! x
Congratulations to Les Miserables, The Girls, The Last Five Years, School of Rock, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Wicked on your wins at last night's Whats On Stage awards. All fantastic sounding shows!
