New Agreement Between Autograph Sales & Installations And KV2

LONDON, SEPTEMBER 17th 2017 - Leading UK integrator and reseller Autograph Sales & Installations are delighted to announce their appointment as one of the UK’s premier distribution partners and main dealers for KV2 Audio, designers and manufacturers of contemporary loudspeaker systems and associated products.

Following the original introduction from Ross Portway, the new agreement follows a lengthy period of cooper...ation and collaboration between KV2 and Autograph Sound which has resulted in the deployment of KV2 systems on a number of productions including ‘Bend It Like Beckham’, ‘Dreamgirls', ‘Annie’, ‘The Addams Family’ and ‘Mamma Mia’. Autograph’s Duncan Bell explains, ‘The demand for KV2 systems for these shows and others soon to go out originated with a number of sound designers (notably Richard Brooker and Bobby Aitken) who approached us and asked us to look at KV2 for their projects. A very good working relationship with the KV2 team developed quickly and as a result we now have a number of great-sounding shows equipped with their products both in the West End and on international tours.’

Duncan continues, ‘Our experiences with the brand - not only in terms of their product portfolio but also their professionalism and approach to our markets - showed us that they could also be an ideal partner for Autograph Sales & Installations. We do not add dealership or distribution lines to our business very often, but the diversity of projects we are undertaking across many markets requires a broad and flexible portfolio of products - KV2 is an extremely valuable addition to our product range.’

Autograph Sales & Installations have already delivered their first KV2 products. Neatly highlighting the scope and potential of the KV2 portfolio, they include a multi-role suite of loudspeakers, amplifiers and controllers to a leading independent school and a range of EX and ES-series products to the hire inventory of a busy event production company.

KV2’s Jonathan Reece-Farren remarked, ‘It has been very refreshing to work with a company as professional and well regarded as Autograph. With their reputation for going the extra mile and with them already handling many of the UK’s highest-profile theatre productions and installation projects, our shared ethos for delivering an audio experience beyond expectation lends itself perfectly to this partnership and the product portfolio of KV2.’

‘The Autograph team’s technical expertise and knowledge base also provides us with incredible confidence, as a manufacturer, that our products are being represented, specified and supported to the highest possible level. With a number of successful projects now completed and several others at the initial stages of design, it is an exciting time for both of our companies.’

AUTOGRAPH APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR

LONDON, AUGUST 7th 2017 - Global leaders and innovators in theatrical audio, Autograph Sound Recording Ltd, have today announced the appointment of Scott Arnold to the position of Managing Director. He will also assume a directorship of Autograph Sales & Installations.

Arnold was appointed to the main board of Autograph Sound in June 2013 as Hire Director, having joined the company’s service department in 1997 and subsequently being ap...pointed to head the hire division in 2002.

Former MD Terry Jardine, who joined Autograph Sound in 1989 and was appointed Managing Director in 2000, assumes the role of Group Chairman but is moving to an additional role within the company - a noted theatrical sound designer in his own right, his new position allows him to refocus his passion on that discipline and to lead Autograph’s internal team of sound designers.

On his new role Arnold commented, “2017 marks my 20th year in Autograph Sound. Some things - notably much of the technology we employ daily - have changed beyond recognition in that time, but many others continue to reflect the original vision of company founders Andrew Bruce, Philip Clifford and Julian Beech.”

“We are busier than ever, both in the West End and with our touring shows, and I believe that is because we never stop trying to do better. We are currently expanding our operational activities into new areas and our Sales & Installations division are successfully bringing style and techniques developed in the West End and on Broadway to venues big and small all over the country. I see my role as continuing to build on the brilliant work of those who have brought Autograph this far.”

Andrew Bruce said, “What excites me most about this latest episode in Autograph’s 45 year history is the mix of youth and experience, tradition, taste and fearlessness demonstrated by Scott, his FD Duncan Bell and all those who have moved into places supporting them. I’m terribly proud to have laid the foundations to enable such a talented group of people to continue to do great things for sound in the theatre and all branches of live performance.”

Europe’s largest performing arts centre, the Barbican Centre, is a world class arts and learning organization in London. Created in order to inspire people to d...iscover and love the arts, it is a true multi-cultural venue. More than one million people attend Barbican events annually as part of the creative learning program.

Mark Bloxsidge, the Barbican’s Technical Manager, says: “The 900-LFCs are remarkable - for something with such a small footprint and which is so easy to handle, the power delivery and coverage is astonishing. Having eight allows us to use them in variety of configurations and locations depending on the production, which is ideal given the diversity of performers that appear here.”

Provided by Autograph Sales & Installations, the Barbican has 900-LFCs, MILO, M’elodie, UPA-1Ps, M1Ds and M3D subs, with a Galileo and RMServer in the control room. This system allows the centre to meet the needs of extraordinarily diverse music, dance, conference and live performance events. What an extraordinary space!

Autograph Delivers Audio Solution To Stylish Central London Venue

Once part of The Regent Palace Hotel, close to London’s Piccadilly, ‘Live At Zédel’ is a part of an entertainment complex set in the most opulent Art Deco surroundings, where visitors may enjoy not only a range of contemporary entertainment but drinks in the beautiful Bar Américain and fine contemporary dining at Brasserie Zédel.

The diversity of entertainment on offer at ‘Live At Zédel’ is striking, featuring ...many styles of music as well as theatre, comedy and literary events. The venue is managed by Fane Productions, whose vision for its continued development includes the recording of live performances and subsequent online releases made available within just a few hours of the event itself.

Far removed from the ‘board tapes’ whose dubious quality spawned so many bootleg releases, modern equipment extends the role of the house mixing console to include very high quality, multi-track recording of a live event. Autograph Sales & Installations have recently supplied and commissioned a compact suite of mixing and recording equipment to facilitate Fane Productions’ ambition of capturing and subsequently releasing shows from Live At Zédel.

A Yamaha TF1 digital mixing console complete with a pair of Yamaha Tio1608-D stage boxes, provides up to 40 input channels from the stage which can be recorded individually direct to a JoeCo BLACKBOX BBR64-DANTE multi-track recorder, using the Dante digital protocol and connected via a Dante card fitted to the Yamaha. Those same inputs channels are simultaneously mixed for the live audience, then immediately post-show the multi-track recording is remixed for release and made available for download via Fane Productions’ website.

The first release to be done in this way featured the Jay Rayner Quartet, led by the eponymous and multi-talented musician, restaurant critic, chef, writer and broadcaster

Autograph Announce XDANTE-1 Dante Network Switcher

The XDANTE-1 Dante Network Audio Changeover System has been developed by a team of Autograph engineers, led by Rob Tory, as a simple and efficient way to switch between dual-redundant Dante sources at the push of a single button. Like all Signature Series devices it has been created in response to real-world demand and incorporates two switchers, each capable of switching between two 32-channel sources. These can be used inde...pendently, or combined to switch between two 64-channel sources.

In common with the other changeover devices in the range, the XDANTE-1 integrates seamlessly with Autograph’s XUSB-2 Mac / PC Switching System for complete control and peace of mind. The unit is housed in a 1U 19” rack-mount case, features dual-redundant internal power supplies as standard and whilst developed for theatrical audio, is also ideal for any other application where uninterrupted Dante network connectivity is vital.

It also includes another key feature found on other mission-critical Signature Series units, the ‘Big Red Button’ - as Autograph’s Duncan Bell explains, “When and if an operator reaches the point that they have to switch Dante networks mid-show, the last thing they need is to try and do that via an on-screen menu or some hidden control. The XDANTE-1 includes a large, illuminated red button that can be found instantly in any lighting conditions, which will instantaneously and noiselessly switch between networks if necessary”.

The new unit will be available for viewing on Autograph’s stand at the ABTT Show, June 6th and 7th, stand number C33.
