Of note.
Besides being white and male, one of the biggest privileges in the world is having a USA passport. I'm a frequent traveler and I still have a sense of wondermen...t how I can land on another continent and in another country and be through customs in 2 minutes because of this book.
I can visit 185 foreign lands because of this. If you've ever had to get a visa to a country, you know how much freedom this can buy you. If you hold another passport (like Nigeria, for example), you know how much of a hassle it can be to travel because you are constantly questioned at borders even after you go through the extensive visa process.
People leave the only homes they ever know for this blue book. People leave their loves ones for this. People die for this. So today, I'm taking a moment to think about those people.
We might not always see the United States as the land of the free, but we are freer than most.
