Last nights Carol's by Candlelight service at St Mary and St Ambrose Church was a beautiful occasion with church looking very special lighted only by candle. #Edgbaston #BalsallHeath #Birmingham #advent #Christmasiscoming

Carol by Candlelight is tonight at St Mary and St Ambrose Church at 5pm - see you there!

Today, the Church celebrates St Ambrose - one of our patrons!

He was a well-off Roman Christian who lived in the 4th century. He became Bishop of Milan, and gave away his money and land to the poor.

He was a capable administrator, a theologian who wrote influential texts and impacted the though of St Augustine, and he also composed chants like this one:

TREE PLANTING TOMORROW!

Come and help or just watch as we plant trees in Calthorpe Park - meet at 10.30am at Calthorpe Well Being Hub on Edward Road.

Tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday, so we would like to extend a special invitation to anyone who would like to mark the day. You don't need to be a Christian, or a regular member of our congregation - you are very welcome.

At 10.00am there will be Holy Communion and Junior Church at St Mary & St Ambrose Church. At the end of the service there will be a brief Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in the church.

Enjoy tea, toast, crafts and easy conversation in your neighbourhood.

Every Thursday at Balsall Heath Church Centre, Help Point Cafe and Foodbank is open.

You'll get a warm welcome, a warm drink, help and advice.

10 til 11am, free Tai Chi for over 50s, wear loose clothing, no experience necessary!

Refreshments served from 10.30am,...

Discipleship groups return this week after their half-term break. We are using a 'Pilgrim' course on The Eucharist. You can still join one of the groups, just come along!

Tuesdays at 10.30am at St Mary and St Ambrose
Wednesdays at 7.30pm at Balsall Heath Church Centre

Everyone is welcome to 'Making and Doing' - a free hour of games, crafts and conversations aimed at over 50s.

Tomorow and most Mondays 2pm to 3pm, more details from Diane on 440 1138

Tomorrow we all meet together at 10.30am at St Mary and St Ambrose Church. We'll be thinking about what it means to 'clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.'

The service lasts about an hour and is appropriate for all ages (there's a kids corner for younger children). You don't need to be a Christian or a regular church-goer to come along. There will be songs, prayers, readings, a sermon and holy communion, and afterwards tea, coffee and cake!

The Memorial Service for our parishes will be held on Sunday 29th October at 4.00pm at Balsall Heath Church Centre.

Everyone is very welcome, but we particularly invite the families of those whose funerals have been taken in the parishes of St Paul's Balsall Heath and St Mary & St Ambrose Edgbaston in the past year.

The service will last for about 40 minutes and refreshments will be served afterwards. It would help if you would let the office know if you are able to attend.
