Since the announcement of the impending closure of Western Sydney U Bankstown in favour of the vertical campuses in the Liverpool and Bankstown CBD areas, the BSCC has been fighting to make sure the voices of students are heard and that active consultation is taking place in every stage of the project.

This action has been taking place in conjuction with several on-campus collectives - namely Women's Collective, Queer Collective, Disability Collective and the Indigenous Stude...nts Collective.

Today, we can announce a victory for students regarding the Liverpool Campus. Thanks to the hard work of the Disability Collective and Vice-Chancellor Barney Glover, we are proud to make the following announcement:

==========

The Western Growth Team and the Student Support Services (lead by Executive Director, Ellen Brackenreg) has revisited the space allocation at Liverpool City Campus and have provided a space, in addition to the Access Room, for staff and students to book and use that will have assistive technology and facilities to relax.

In addition to physical disabilities, this will be beneficial to those who have invisible disabilities, including issues of vision, hearing and sensory impairments or the multiple impacts of acquired brain injury, which may become more apparent for those who are not used to working or studying in an urban environment.

The ability to book this room as one of two access/equity rooms provides more flexibility for staff and students.

==========

This is a victory for all students, and shows we can make a valuable input into the future of the university and its campuses.

Today, the Chairs of the Student Campus Councils will be taking part in the Student Services and Amentities Fees (SSAF) Working Party to determine what projects your student fees will be dedicated to funding in the 2018 Academic Year.

The Bankstown Student Campus Council is seeking two resolutions from next week's protest.

1. An apology from the Western Sydney University for the failure to consult with students before a decision was reached regarding the future of the Bankstown Campus.

2. Active consultation by the Vice-Chancellor and the Western Growth department with students and staff regarding the future development of the Bankstown CBD Campus
