On Monday night, March, 25, 2019, at the Beebe City Council Meeting,... Mayor Mike Robertson recognized Patrol Officer Blake Rogers and K9 Officer Crank for their efforts in stopping drugs from coming into our city, and specifically for a recent substantial drug arrest.
Officer Rogers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Andrew Martin Hilton, 45, of Beebe. It was determined by the Officer that Hilton was driving on a suspended driver’s license; he had no proof of insurance and had failed to register the vehicle, which had been purchased in July of 2018. Hilton was placed under arrest for the violations.
Subsequent to the arrest, an inventory search was conducted on the vehicle in preparation for it to be impounded. A large amount of a white powder / crystalline substance was discovered in a back pack in the rear of the vehicle. The weight of the substance was approximately 650 grams. Additional items discovered included: digital scales, multiple plastic bags, syringes and $5493.00 in cash.
A chemical field test was administered and a positive reaction to the Schedule II controlled substance methamphetamine was received. Hilton was arrested for “Trafficking in a controlled Substance”, “Possession of drug paraphernalia” and “Use of a communication device”. Hilton was transported to the White County Detention Center in Searcy and incarcerated in lieu of a first appearance and held without bond.
The Beebe Police Department Special Investigations Unit contacted the Little Rock Office of the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration. A meeting was held with Beebe Officers and a Special Agent/Task Force Officer. As a result of that meeting the felony drug charges regarding Hilton will be presented to a Grand Jury for prosecution by the United States Attorney’s Office in Little Rock. The value of the methamphetamine was estimated at $65,000.00. Mehr anzeigen
