So we've got a great group down here organized by the Salem um members of the entire North Shore. We're talking about Black lives matter. I'm wearing a Rihanna, Taylor sign of which that's still an issue that has not been solved. We had a young black woman sleeping in her own apartments uh who was killed by the police, then we're standing out in front of the United States Post service and if anyone was watching the Senate hearing yesterday, the US postmaster. Seem to have much to say, and the fact that we've seen mailboxes being removed in our district right here we start happening in Gloucester. We're still questioning what's happening with the sorting machines. This is a this is a deep concern. I appreciate the fact that they're talking about cost cutting measures, but the timing of this is suspect in there should be no interference in our democracy right now we've had more individuals who male and voters just here in Massachusetts, it was 830000 people plus. Male and votes, and for that process to be disrupted because of the move to privatize everything from health care to our school system to our postal service because we have an incompetent individual in the White House is unacceptable. This is our democracy that we're fighting for right here. I'm gonna show you some of the crowd here. Okay. My father worked for the United States Postal Service and he got the mail out. We're talking about prescriptions. We're talking about individuals and rural communities. We're talking about people being able to go down and put an input their vote into a mailbox and know that that is going to be counted. We even saw in one of the local elections here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that there was an entire box of votes in the in the Grafton area that we're not counted in a recent election that is problematic. Your voice is your vote. This is not a time for us. We've been almost 4 years into the worst situation that this country has ever faced and we need leadership and we need to be able to have the people know that they're that they will is being served. This is not fascist state. We do not have kings and queens this is about our democracy. This is about taking care of people. This is about saying that everyone here has a voice and right now. Dealing with Black Lives matter we're dealing with police brutality. we're dealing with not being able to have your vote, potentially counted or not because of disruption in service we have over 40000000 people unemployed over 20000000 people have lost their health insurance because their health insurance is connected to their employment. That's not acceptable. That's not acceptable. We're having challenges access to this a gentleman who had a sign uh I gotta find them, but basically it was. Who are asking for us to fight the virus? not fight our democracy? This is a need for the people of this country. The people of this country are not being taken care of and I'm here to say that I will take care of the people of this district. There are designated boxes. Thank you to Wendy, who just put that out there are designated boxes for your vote, but the fact that we're having to deal with this right now in twenty that. That's what our democracy has turned into is that we the people have to fight this full access to our vote. Black lives matter We must we the people must save the postal service. Save you USPS stamp out fascism right here. We are in the fight of our lives. We thought we were in the fight of our lives before and now this is. In Marblehead, we are coming down this way. Get your knee off our USPS. This is a this is a confluence of challenges that we've never faced. get your knee off or neck black people are dying. get your knee off of our USPS democracy is at stake. And I'm here to tell you that I will fight for you as I have been fighting for people who's voices have not been heard for years and I will continue to do that.
