Bishop's first ever Women's Climbing Festival was held last weekend. It was great to see all the fired-up female crushers out there and it sounds like a good time was has by all.
Hey everyone!!!!! This season has been a good one. Keep the good times rolling and get out there and help keep the milks clean and sustainable!!!! Meet Friends of the Inyo and the Inyo National Forest at 8:30am up at the main area with closed toe shoes and work cloths for a few hours of clean up work!!!! Thanks everyone, hope to see you out there!
Hey boys and girls! It's been snowing down in the valley and while that's awesome! it also means the rocks are wet and cold. Please remember that the rock here, especially on the table lands, get brittle when wet.
DON'T CLIMB on it until it has had plenty of time to dry or you risk breaking holds!
This is true even in the milks. Be safe and conscientious out there!
Hey everyone!!! The Access Fund is hiring a second Conservation Team!!!! If you are an experienced trail worker and love taking care of climbing areas and working with volunteers check it out!
Some important reminders from our friends at the Access Fund. Although we don't have sandstone here, our volcanic tuff is pretty soft and porous, so please give it a chance to dry out after a good soaking and use a horse or boar hair brush.
Thanks and happy climbing!
Some great things to remember!
If you're heading to Bishop to climb this holiday, please respect the area! I talked with veteran climbers who frequent the East Side to get their take on what we can do to keep Bishop the special place we all know and love.
It's Thanksgiving everyone! Make sure to play safe out there and remember there will be a lot of climbers in town this weekend. Be respectful please!

The bouldering season is winding down out there and alpine season is gearing up, but right now our hearts are with all those affected by the earthquake in Nepal. If you would like to consider donating to the rescue and clean up effort you can learn how here.
