You’ve been gone two weeks today, buddy. Sometimes it feels like two minutes, at other times two months! It’s been an emotional rollercoaster of a February, that much is for sure! The pain of losing you is absolutely necessary because it means that we loved you. If we felt no pain, no grief, no loss, that would signify no love. Can’t have love without tears, right?! Anyway, keep on having adventures wherever you are, and we will keep telling the world how no obstacles got in ...your way. You lived life on your terms, and did what you wanted. Hopefully many more blind cats will find homes because somebody, someday, finds a video of you on the web and says, “Check it out! This blind cat can play fetch and open doors! He looks happy. Maybe we should adopt the blind cat they have at the shelter. Let’s go!” #GoOskar [In the pic: Image of Oskar proudly standing on the grass next to a tree.]
The Klaus is enjoying the simple things today: a pile of papers to lay on and some warm sunshine through the window. He’s doing OK. He definitely misses his buddy, but he’s surrounded by everything he needs and his appetite is good. Some of you asked about how Klaus will handle the Catsbury Park Cat Convention in New Jersey in April. He will rock it! He’s been everywhere with us, from SxSW in Texas to CatCon in California. He loves people. He loves attention. He likes travel. Many, many years ago he slept through an eleven hour trip from Omaha to Dallas. Not one peep. He would be a great cat for a truck driver! If you want to meet Klaus in April, click this link: www.catsburyconvention.com/tickets🤘❤️😸
It’s President’s Day here in the USA and many people have the day off. Are you one of the lucky ones who got to sleep in today, like Oskar in the picture? This is one of our favorite photos of Oskar back from when he was just one. ❤️😸❤️
We’re down to the final hours of our “Adventures of Oskar & Klaus” vintage-style t-shirt campaign. Just go to shirt.OSKARandKLAUS.com before 8am Pacific time on Monday the 19th. Shirts ship worldwide, and each one sold equals one Oskar & Klaus hardcover book donation (we are preparing to donate over 1,000 books in the coming weeks due to your support)!
Here’s our friend Gwen Cooper visiting Oskar & Klaus back in 2014. Gwen is the author of a best-selling book called “Homer’s Odyssey” about her life-changing experience with a blind cat named Homer. It’s an absolutely wonderful read, and Gwen has written some other great works too! She is offering new subscribers to her email list FREE electronic copies of the first chapter of the sequel to "Homer's Odyssey" and the short story "Homer and the Holiday Miracle." All you have t...o do is send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with "Mailing List" in the subject line, and she’ll email you back with the stories. If you’re already on her list, just email her asking for the stories. Definitely take advantage of this and look for some exciting news about a project we’re doing with Gwen later this year (hint: is not a book). ❤️😸❤️ @ Seattle, Washington Homer Blind WonderCat
The Klaus is ready for you! The Catsbury Park Cat Convention’s Klaus meet-and-greet tickets are selling fast, and if you want to hang out with him then click www.catsburyconvention.com/tickets today. We will be revealing all sorts of cool projects for special-needs animals as well as blind and visually-impaired children as we officially launch the Oskar & Klaus Foundation! This will be a good time. Index fingers WILL get (gently) nibbled! 👍😺❤️
Thank you again for your incredible support of the GoOskar.com shirt campaign — for each shirt sold, we’re donating an Oskar & Klaus book to kids who need it most. As it stands, we will give out 1,000 books this spring to a variety of organizations (all of the details are coming very soon). There are about two days left to get your own #GoOskar skateboarding cat shirt; they come in youth and adult sizes in many colors and styles, and they ship worldwide too!
UPDATE: We know many of you were looking forward to meeting Oskar at the Catsbury Park Cat Convention on April 7th and 8th, but his sudden passing earlier this month changed the plan. Although we considered cancelling our travel to Asbury Park, New Jersey, there is simply too much about Oskar’s life that’s worth sharing with other cat lovers! In the adventurous and brave spirit of Oskar, his best friend Klaus will take his place! We hope that many of you will join Oskar’s own...er (Mick) to learn about Oskar’s amazing life, his work with blind children and adults, and get a ticket to meet Klaus too! Klaus’ meet-and-greet will officially be the launch of the Oskar & Klaus Foundation! Additional details are coming soon! P.S. You do not have to wear a tie to meet Klaus. [Go to www.catsburyconvention.com/tickets tomorrow at noon Eastern time to get the tickets.] Catsbury Park
