The law of unintended consequences:
I recently purchased a short sale. The gentleman that lost his home was very nice, and in my opinion, he was taken advantage of by the bank. Anyway, he really liked his condo and wanted to stay on as a renter. However, to add insult to injury, if the bank accepts your short sale, they insist that you move.
As you know, we have 60+ condos for rent. How much sense does it make for him to move out of the one that he likes and into another one... owned by the same person? The end result is he ended up having to move for no real reason, and due to timing, I ended up not getting to keep a good renter.
Here is a copy of his email to my realtor:
I'm beyond exhausted, but feeling better about everything now that it's almost over with. . . . . I have a few more items I'll be moving tonight after work then everything will be all finished. . . . . . . Tell Steve I'm disappointed too, but thank him for all the good intentions. He's a very nice man.
