We have been pretty quiet on Braxton’s Fight page as we have been dealing with a lot and just wanted to process everything in our own time and put our son and family first.
Last update we shared with you all was roughly October last year when we received a phone call from Dr Teo’s office asking us to come down to talk about surgery.
We flew down and spoke to Dr Teo. It had been a good while since we last Dr Teo and he couldn’t believe how well Braxton looked considering the…
“Their laughter will make your heart melt
Their strength will make a grown person cry
If you ever see a child fight cancer, it will change your life forever”
Today marks 6 years since our son Braxton was diagnosed with brain cancer. What a journey he has been on. When your child is told that they have cancer you can never predict what the future may bring, all you can do is support them and try to make the best decisions for them. There has been many times where we’ve had to …make the hardest decisions not knowing what may come next but all we want is for Braxton to have a chance at life.
It still breaks our hearts what he has been through and what the future may bring but nothing compared to how proud we are of him.
He just amazes us how he takes each day in his stride and continues to live life like a normal 7 year old. He has his daily struggles but he doesn’t know any different. Braxton has shown us what true courage, determination and strength is.
We know that brain cancer is the number one killing cancer and that it kills more children then any other cancer. We know how very lucky we are to have Braxton still with us, knowing the statistics.
Thank you Braxton for being such a brave fighter so we can still have you with us. Thank you all for your support because without you as well, Braxton wouldn’t be here with us.
