Have to take a moment to recognize this young man - Eagle Scout Jonathan Cramer. Jonathan has been putting work into the dog park out on Lynn Rd. for quite some time now. Note the memorial marker that reads "in memory of BPD K-9 Ace."

What a great project - thank you Jonathan!! Jonathan is pictured here with K9 Havoc & Sgt. Knarr.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Petco for our K-9 Demo event last Saturday with K9 Havoc, K9 Drogen and K9 Felon from the Portage County Sheriff's Office! A huge thank you also to People Care Pet Pantry for donating kits containing portable water bowls and snare leashes for each of our cruisers to assist an animal in need.

Week of August 1-5, 2016

Suffield and Randolph Townships have been victim to close to 60 shed and barn break-ins over the past three months. We have had a smaller number of similar incidents here in Brimfield to date. Subjects are mostly taking Stihl power equipment. Well over 100 Stihl products have been stolen.

The photos below supplied by the Portage County Sheriff's Office are from video of a break in to a barn in Suffield Township. What we can tell is it is a Ford work van with two pipe holde...rs on the left side and ladder rack on right side. The van also has an add on hitch on the back with an upward curved receiver. Possible stolen ladder tied down with colored horse lead rope from barn. Both males have a limp with their left leg. The driver possibly has a brace on his left leg.

Please contact Det. Springer or Det. Acklin at the Portage County Sheriff's Office at (330) 297-3890 if you have any information on the identity of these individuals. You may remain anonymous if you wish.

Have to take a moment to send out a huge "Thank You" to Bridge Bible Church here in Brimfield for dropping off a fantastic deli tray for our officers this week. Truly appreciate your kind gesture! #grateful

One of these is a real firearm. The remainder are all only pellet guns. Can you tell on first glance which one is "real?" Tough in an ideal setting studying them. How about if pointed at you in a high stress confrontation? (Thanks to our friends at Braintree, MA. PD for sharing).

A few shots of some awesome kiddos from the first day of Kindergarten Safety School this week.

Best quote of the day:

Officer: How are you doing today buddy?...
Kiddo: I'm a ninja.
Officer: Really? You are?
Kiddo: Yes, I am a ninja...and police officers need ninjas to help them out to catch bad guys when they are in trouble.
