Looking for community support and assistance..
CALL TO ACTION!
To: Brinnon Community
Subject: Time to Pop Heads
Let’s keep the spirt of Shrimpfest ALIVE and raise funds in support of our local community. The Brinnon Parks and Rec. District is pleased to announce a joint fund-raising effort with the Emerald Towns Alliance (ETA/Shrimpfest). We plan to sell shrimp the weekends of both Memorial Day and 4th of July.
We are on a short timeline and need your help! The shrimp from local tribes may be available for processing as early as this coming Friday, Saturday or Sunday (April 20 - 22). We need a crew of volunteers to pop heads, clean, and package the critters for freezing. We are asking for help from the community to make this happen. As soon as the tribal fishermen give us confirmation we will announce the ‘head-popping’ date. All proceeds from this fund-raising event will go back into the community.
We feel we can sell as much shrimp as we did during last year’s Shrimpfest by aggressively conducting a sales campaign at Pleasant Harbor, the Dose and Seal Rock State Parks and the local events conducted by the Booster Club, the Senior Organization, etc. We will have a booth at the Brinnon Community Center and other locations TBD (more information to follow).
If you are interested in volunteering please email the dates and times you are available to email@example.com or call 360-796-7002. We will be posting updates to our Facebook page Brinnon Parks and Recreation and website site www.brinnonparksandrec.org

What a difference a day makes....This morning's satellite image with the marine layer and this afternoon's image showing how the bloom is pushing into northern ...Hood Canal. Thank you Landsat 8 for the amazing images. Of course, a beauty shot from the shoreline too. Anyone else have some great photos to share of our amazing coccolithophore bloom?
