This place was amazing! I loved the mine tour, riding on the tracks that led us to areas that still had equiptment used back in the early 1900's! When they turned on the drill, everything shook, inc...luding me! It was so loud! I can't imagine being a miner back then, what their bodies had to endure. My favorite part was panning for gold! I found 5 pieces of gold, some amethyst and quartz too! You get to take home what you find! See More

Loved this place. The mining tour where you ride in the cars was so much fun and loved Laura, our tour guide, who took us thru the tour. Oh and the panning for gold isn’t just for kids, lol, I thoroug...hly enjoyed myself. Lots of things I was unaware of and learned so much. I would highly recommend you take a trip here. See More

We had a fantastic visit to Britannia Mine Museum yesterday! Our tour guide, Sean, was wonderful. He was very friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about the history of the place, and we were luck...y enough to be the only ones on the tour at the time. Our kids (10, 10, & 14) also want me to add that it was "super fun and extra cool that they got a gold panning lesson to find real gold and gems"! See More

Our family enjoyed the tour & going through the tunnels as well as the gold panning. I really enjoyed learning about the town and the people that inhabited it. Thank you for preserving a piece of BC history.

My daughter (7) got to choose going to the aquarium, the zoo or Brittania Mine (to gold pan). She chose the mine as she's been to the other 2 before. She was brave in the mine, but didn't like the tal...king, being 7 she doesn't understand the importance of history yet, and she thinks 2000 is a long time ago. We did like to pan for gold, she found interest in the mineral rocks. My husband found interest getting the pyrites and i managed to find 2 flakes of gold. It was funny as everyone panning thought the pyrites was gold, hehehe! Going here made me want to go Barkerville as i grew up within an hour from there. Everyone was very friendly and professional there. Thank you for the experience :) See More

We all found it very informative. I had no idea the mine was such a big part of our history in BC.
Our guide was excellent .

For the past decade my friends and I have talked about stopping here on our way home from ski trips to Whistler, but we are always too tired to stop in after a couple days on the slopes. We finally up to it on our drive home Sunday afternoon and it was well worth it. Super interesting history and we were pleasantly surprised to find out we actually got to go into the mines. It is a little bit more expensive than I was expecting ($30 Canadian for an adult), but still worth it. I kind of wish there was a way to see more of the mill building which is just massive. I really wanted to explore that. See More

This is a very well done historical museum. The tour staff were engaging and the facility is in very good shape. Entry price is a bit high, but it partially goes to environmental cleanup work relat...ed to the plant's history, which is a good cause.

If it's a rainy day, or cold, it will be harder to enjoy all the outbuildings and outdoor displays and signs, which might impact your sense of value for the ticket price.

Staff in the gift shop was fantastic. On our day there our young girls were trying to spend their last Canadian coins. They only had enough for one small mineral rock souvenir, but the staff comped a second when they saw the sad sibling.

Definitely a thumbs up from me

It was our first visit with our sons 8 years and 11 years. We had a very enjoyable day and our guide Marsh was amazing. His knowledge from working there himself in the 60's and 70's really brought t...he experience to life! Will recommend to everyone we know! Thank you Dawn Eade See More

Awesome experience. The young red head tour guide did great. But the lady manager or person in charge was very rude & not friendly.

A great way for the family to spend the afternoon. It truly was the best museum I have been to yet.

It’s #internationalmuseumday! Did you know the Britannia site is over 100 years old and we’ve been a museum since 1975? We’re looking pretty good for our age!
