Having just moved to the area, I found it more than worth the $1 charge to walk the pier for an hour.

As you enter, there are old and faded newspaper articles on the walls going back decades its history. Among those are large catches and the pier's demise and rebuilding after a hurricane. Isabel? I don't recall.

While on the pier, I got to see several fishermen haul in their catches. Huge!

Take your time and enjoy as I did. If you're disappointed, I'll refund your dollar.

This has to be one of the nicest piers I have been on. It's clean, has very good lighting on and under the pier which helps attract schools of baitfish. Will definitely be returning again.

Spent the day on Buckroe beach. It was super clean and just very nice. Went from beach to the pier for a few hours of fishing. Was a bit crowded but everyone, both patrons and staff, were friendly and... it made for a fun evening!! People were catching mullet, flounder and skates. Shrimp, squid and bloodworms were the bait of choice. Bathrooms were super clean as well!! Buckroe beach and Pier is one of our favorite day spots just a short hour and 20 minutes from Glen Allen, Va. See More

Been to the pier a couple times and it's been good fishing. Tend to get lots of anglers but for the most part everyone's friendly and courteous, just there to have a great time and catch dinner.

This pier is decent. Clean restrooms and good spot for fishing. The reason I gave it a 3, because today we tried to go there to fish and there is so much people in the beach. Could not find parking an...d when we were trying to turn to the road that goes to the pier, we were told we can't when we are gonna be paying to fish and park on the designated spot. and was told by this guy directing traffic that we should have got there earlier. The point is, the pier has a parking lot for people paying to use or fish in the pier. I don't think we'll ever go back. See More

Our favorite place to fish!!!! We know it is summer and they are having many activities at the beach. Don't know if it is possible or not but the parking needs to be improved. We came Friday evening a...nd there was a wedding taking place on the beach. Beautiful !!!! What we found was "No Parking" due to guest for the wedding parking in the pier parking lot. We would wait and see them parking and headed to the wedding. Came back this afternoon late and there was a huge event taking place at the beach. Again, we drove around and around looking for a parking place. We continued to see people parking in the pier parking lot and walking to the beach. Is there anyway that when events are taking place at the beach that the pier staff can stand at the pier gate entrance and make sure they are going fishing??? For people that have season passes it doesn't seem right that you come and have to leave due to improper parking at the pier. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. We love to fish there!!!! Thanks for any help with this!!!!!! See More

The people who work on the pier need to learn how to look at radar its been 2 hours since they pulled every one off the pier for a thunderstorm and wont let anyone back on the pier cause they can see ...lightning 50 miles away See More

It's very user friendly, staff are polite, but don't know much about saltwater fishing. They keep the pier very clean and I usually meet really classy folks there, well, most fishing folks are int...eresting and happy like. The Puppy Drum last weekend were pretty good. In two and a half days two of us got 11 keepers and returned about 8 undersized. Love it there at Buckroe Pier. See More

Love the pier; great fishing and super-clean. My only concern...I wish they'd only let a certain # of people on the pier--yesterday, we were shoulder-to-shoulder; lines kept getting tangled and no pla...ce to put a chair to sit. See More
