I was out of town this past week, and returned to find one young Ruby-throated Hummingbird, perched in my backyard, on Friday evening. It was still here on the morning of Saturday, October 21st, but I think it may have headed south, ahead of the cold front that will be moving through here soon.

There were 2 young male Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in my yard in SW Ohio today, October 15, 2017. I spotted them chasing each other, resting on perches, and feeding from a variety of blooms, including justice brandegeana 'Shrimp Plant'. I'm guessing that the cold front that moved through this afternoon, might motivate them to continue their journey southward
