Its all about money. Theyre harrassing my family right now about our fence but dont give details on the new ordinances. It is freezing out right now but they want the fence done. Yet the duplexes look... bad and constently have trash out the day after trash day but this town does nothing about it.
Constantly spending money on adding roundabouts and dividers to the streets but actually improving the streets is unimportant. Not to mention they dont think through the chamges to adjust the signs.

We had an issue with water backing up into our bathrooms because of work being done down our street. My husband notified the city and they addressed the problem. They even put some sod on our lawn having to cut part of our well-kept lawn up.

Regulations seem direct and to-the-point. Things are kept up. We love the variety of stores and restaurants, and living close to everything! We also enjoy the year-round events and the family friendly feel. My only three hopes are that 1) the schools stay good for my children, 2) apartments are kept to a minimum (I don't mind if they're here, but in moderation), and 3) maybe we can get a Specs here one day! ;)

So glad that our journey to "home" took us to Burleson.

Edited to add: we have enjoyed our interactions with firefighters and police officers in our city. We haven't *actually* needed their services yet, but my 2 year old already has a sense of their positive roles based on her interactions with them in the city! Well done!

I love Burleson and believe it has one of the better city governments in the Metroplex. We have amenities that would be the envy of cities twice our size and city officials seem to always be on the lo...okout for things to make Burleson even better and more attractive. I'm proud to call Burleson my home! See More

Poor excuse for a town government. Horrible roads code compliance will cry about any thing they feel they are allowed.

FROM A friends Facebook post- A classic example of government regulation costing jobs and harming the economy: I do appraisals on residential real estate. A builder I do regular work for in Burleson... used to include a sprinkler system in their "Standard Features" with a home. But recently the city implemented a regulation that requires them to furnish plans and specs on the sprinkler system and be
blessed by an engineer's stamp. So the sprinkler system in Burleson, TX now requires an engineered system for a yard sprinkler. The builder told me since that about doubles the price of a sprinkler system they no longer include it with the "Standard Features." Now it is an extra and near twice the price. So sorry to you installers of sprinkler systems in Burleson. This costs you business and money. Now many of the homes I get to appraise for that builder do not have sprinklers. Does anyone else know about this?

Lived here 33 years, love our first responders and our city government. You can pick apart any city or anything for that matter, but I have to wonder how many of those that complained have ever been t...o a council meeting or even voted. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution. You choose. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I think Mayor Shetter is leading the city responsibly. See More

The town has gone to crap. Building apartments and all the trash is moving in. The taxes are too high, Been here 7 years and still can't fix the roads. Now because someone lives in the country ca...n't use the tree recycling place anymore. If I pay Burleson taxes I should be able to use it. The city is run by people that have no clue. See More

I'm FB challenged, so I just found the City's page and was surprised to find a reviewing option. But since it's here, I'll put in my 2¢. It's been 8 years now since we, as newlyweds, decided to build... our home in Burleson. We've built a family and made a life here in that time. We'll retire here eventually. There are some absolutely ridiculous things about Burleson, with the archaic trash pickup system topping my little lost of pet peeves. I get tired of trash blowing around street animals get into exposed bags. But all told, I'm pretty happy with our choice of home town. Shetter said something to the effect of 'Burleson is small town done right.' I tend to agree. See More

I moved here 26 years ago and have truly loved B town but each day the population grows and we get more and more citified. Latest upset to so very many is the center median down 174. Omg now people cu...tting through businesses, taking residential routes to dodge driving 5 blocks to go one, actually jumping median when you have a vehicle tall enough to do so. I've seen all of this. Just saying what I see. See More

Love Burleson and look forward to the hot Sounds of Summer every year. But this year a lady brought a puppy and no water for it. I watched the first 30 min and finally made her give it some water. ...He looked in bad enough shape that I asked a police officer to check on it and see if he could convince the lady to take it home. He said yes he would be right over there......NOPE he never came over. I am very dissappointed in the police. I guess puppies are not a priority. HMMMM.....he must not have a dog. It was so sad to watch that poor puppy. See More

I have to believe that people who criticize Burleson City Government have never needed the dedicated, caring men and women who serve so selflessly as Firemen and Policemen in the City, they must not h...ave ever attended a Burleson School Board meeting and witnessed the dedication of the men and women who selflessly address the education and safety of our children, they obviously have never taken the opportunity to sit in a City Council meeting and see first hand the time and commitment of these leaders who volunteer their time and resources . These miserable people have obviously never eaten in our great restaurants, meet the wonderful people in our local banks and businesses or visited our family friendly parks and recreation centers.
So, People, get out in our community, meet the people who live and love here, I don’t want you to go away, I just want you to see and experience what I see and love in the Great City of Burleson.

I actually enjoy living, working and raising my children in Burleson, TX. The city offices, schools, and local business's continue to improve and evolve, providing unprecedented, global access to info...rmation, individuals, training, and opportunities. I appreciate their utilization of Social media sites, keeping us up to date with city, state and government issues. I Love Burleson and Texas!
The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars, because 5 is for places such as Grand Cayman, Cayman Island. :)

I have lived in Burleson for 13 years. I have a mortgage branch here and I am very active with the Burleson chamber , harvest house and the Burleson animal shelter. This is small town living at its best.

I've lived here 35 of my 61 years, raised four kids and owned a business here for 22 years. This is my home and I am PROUD of it! I'm also proud of all our City staff and especially our fine Mayor.

Your new "median" is the dumbest thing I have ever seen constructed in a local roadway. Way to make your traffic even worse than it was by packing in the lanes like sardines. How much money was waste...d on that??!! Money that could've been used to actually do some good??!! See More

Just like most cities, you got good aspects and not so good aspects. I think Burleson is a good place to live with a good school system and plenty of activities, parks and fun things for kids and fami...lies to do. Not too impressed with the way some issues are addressed and handled by the Burleson City government, but that don't mean Burleson is a "bad" place to live. Overall I would prefer to live in Burleson than any of the other cities around here. See More

Burleson is a wonderful community. Intelligent people won't globally judge an entire community based on one conversation. I'd move here tomorrow if I didn't already live here.

As for the differences that arise, let us discuss them before going into "boycott" or adversarial mode. That seems to me to be what civilized people would want to do. See More

What an amazing fireworks show tonight! The Christmas Tree is lit and the season has begun. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
Burleson Animal Shelter just added an outdoor play area for our four-legged friends. This area will serve as a place for dogs waiting to be adopted to get some much-needed exercise and free play and will allow potential adopters a chance to see the pets in a fun, friendly environment. P.S. all the dogs in the videos are available for adoption 😉🐶🐶 #WhatTheBudgetMeansToYou
