Best Castro Street Fair in many, many years–perhaps ever, as long as I've been going. I really like the smaller footprint this year. It was a rainbow-colored crowd of locals--all ages, all gender expr...essions, all friendly people, both at the fair and in the neighborhood businesses I visited during. Can't wait for next year! Please tell your volunteers not to insult people if they don't pay the suggested donation. Some of us live in the neighborhood and need to get to local businesses and maybe some of us are to broke and... the suggested five dollars could be used to purchase something at the fair. See More

I liked the smaller footprint (after the initial shock). The Castro is my neighborhood, my community and Sunday was so nice. My only suggestion for next year is to rethink the layout to optimize space... for people to walk around, vendors and main stage. See More

This year was particularly small, and the fair seems to be getting smaller every year. Why not lower the price of booths for street vendors and actually fill the streets up to capacity with people sel...ling their goods instead of half empty streets. Would also be great to get one big name entertainer (Andy Bell, Jimmy Somerville, RuPaul, Dead or Alive...) to drive some traffic to the fair. It seems to be less attended as time goes on. I still love to come and support the neighborhood I love but it's time to reinvent the fair and breathe new life into it. See More

One of the Jewels of Castro Street celebration in honor of our Mayor and Saint of the Castro: Saint,Gay Mayor Harvey Milk. Yesterday's Music filled us with Love, and the deejays, most esp. Michael Chu,...or Deejay MC2, brought us to our Feet and all the surrounding, equally Talented spinners in every Stage. Thank you Volunteers and Sponsors and SFPD,and all our Politicos from the Mayor's office. The food vendors could do a make-over in providing more Vegetarian choices and more variety also for non- meat eaters, but all in all it was very Festive event! See More

The Purple Ones - That was lit. But what's up with the food stands? We're they all at Hardly Strictly?? Not nearly as many as years past. And four stands of the same food. Not one corndog stand. Nary ...a corndog to be found. This girl just wanted a corndog. Killing my fair food dreams. See More

Last year it was the most fun I have ever had! I am a native and have seen the city change alot. The Legends Stage on 18th right in front of Mollie Stone's, is wher it all happens. All the dancing, m...usic, people, energy, and Love from a time when this city was home to the full spectrum. A time when everything was truly LEGENDARY.
be there from 11am till it's OVAH!

Castro Street Fair is a great day to hang out with friends you haven't seen in a while, while checking out local DJs, Cheer SF, and a host of other local community groups and organizations. It's famil...y and pet friendly, so it's fairly safe for all ages and species. Definitely worth attending! See More

A veteran gay activist explains why the Castro Street Fair is important and why you should attend an upcoming community meeting.

The Executive Board of the Castro Street Fair is seeking community input. Please join us for a public forum April 21 to discuss the present state, history, and future of this beloved community event. Traditionally held on the first Sunday in October, the Castro Street Fair has been a consistent community celebration since Harvey Milk founded it in 1974. The Fair has evolved along with neighborhood and the increased challenges of producing large outdoor community events in the... San Francisco urban landscape. Our Board of Directors is seeking community feedback to address the needs of the neighborhood that hosts the event and the Fair attendees. Castro Street Fair is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has raised nearly $1.5M in event proceeds for community organizations. We are not only a celebration, but also a vehicle to provide much needed community support. Join us for this forum where we invite members of our diverse community to share their unique perspectives and be heard, as well as to ask questions to the Board Members. We will be able to share important information that we can use in efforts to sustain our event.

The agenda for the event will include:

Introduction of Board of Directors

A brief history of the foundation of the Castro Street Fair

Recent history of the Fair and plans for 2018 Event

Summary of Fair financials

Small group break out

All persons and groups from the SF community are invited to attend. Please RSVP:…

We thank you for your time and interest,
