Tomorrow all of Moshi will celebrate the day with their friends and family whatever their race or creed and we celebrate that fact with a few memories of the past few months and offer our thanks to the generous benefactors that have made these moments possible.
Our current Project in Focus, Simbas Footprints, continues to reach out and spread the help for vulnerable children. Children's Aid Tanzania wishes them all the best in this latest worthwhile project.
One of CATz supporters and friends has been running a fundraiser back home in the USA and is now in Moshi to spread her love and help around the many good causes helping vulnerable children in the community. Her decision to support one of the CATz projects Kyaro cognitive disabilities centre makes us all very happy and we send Laura Oppenheimer and all of her friends and family a massive thank you as do the children of this incredible project.
Kayaro Center will receive part of your donations. Please take a look at what you are doing for these children. For any more donations please see my go fund me page at: https://www.gofundme.com/moshi-tanzania-childrens-fund
Kyaro cognitive disabilities centre kids wanted to say thank you for the lovely gifts of colouring books which they have all been enjoying thanks to recent volunteers and visitors - Julia and Mama Julia Kaufman, Josephine and Mama Josephine Herbst, Jasmin Kramer and Philip Joiko. Shimimama's picture was a swirl of colour but she was not too happy about letting go so that we could take a picture!
Congratulations to all the runners and especially to Queenie from Simba's Footprints which is our Project in Focus right now and looking for your help as a volunteer. Contact Gill for more information.
This weekend Simbas Footprints was part of arranging and also participated in the Kilimanjaro Health Run, where the children demonstrated and ran to raise aware...ness and eliminate stigma for people living with disabilities and hiv/AIDS, also for vulnerable children. We are so proud of being part of this important event, as Simbas Footprints are working with children who are fighting for equal, accessible and adequate rights as disabled. Also, we are so very very proud of our sunshine Queeni who with the speed of light won the gold medal in the disabled run. Great weekend and thanks to everyone who came to run for the cause!
Pole pole means slowly slowly her in Tanzania but for one of our free volunteer placement opportunities Kyaro Cognitive Disabilities Center it took a more literal meaning of one pole at a time as the founder set about saving monies from the CATz generated donation to build a much needed fence to keep these children safe.
