Who doesn’t like new things, new starts, and new years? We all do! But New Year's resolutions? I’m not a fan. If we have not kept them through the year, chances are we will not keep them now. Every day for the believer should be a renewed resolve to walk with Jesus, grow closer to Him, and to wa...

Hello ladies!
I hope you had a joyous and blessed Christmas! Happy New Year!

As my kids and I were talking about resolutions this morning, we were laughing at how really they are just things we know we should be doing all year long (eat less sugar, eat more vegetables)! But since the idea of making resolutions are part of our culture, I thought I would make it relevant for them and came across these 70 resolutions by Jonathon Edwards (they were not written as New Year’s res...olutions).

If you have the time or interest to read them, I think you will be challenged and blessed by many of them.

One link is a list of the resolutions and the other is an article about them.

Jonathon Edwards began with this preface:
“Being sensible that I am unable to do anything without God’s help, I do humbly entreat him by his grace to enable me to keep these resolutions, so far as they are agreeable to his will for Christ’s sake.”

Said of these resolutions:
“The self-made person is a modern ideal, not a biblical one. With the preface in mind, though, one does see that Edwards calls himself to a life of high standards and great expectations. He’s resolved to a life that counts, not just a life of putting in time...

Christ made the ultimate resolution, and He kept it perfectly and completely. Christ resolved to redeem His fallen and sinful people so that this new community could be reconciled to the Father and pursue a life of holiness.

Resolved, thanks to this reminder from Jonathan Edwards, to keep our eyes on Christ.”

May God bless you and your family in this new year, as “we keep our eyes on Christ!”

Enjoy!

One of our Women's Ministry teachers, Carol Eskaros, shared this poem with us today. Her daughter Abigail Sean wrote "It's Christmas" about the true meaning of Christmas. As the Christmas season approaches, Karen and the entire Women's Ministry team pray that we would ALL see Christmas through this child's eyes. Enjoy!!!

"It's Christmas"

Tasty smells,

...

Jingle bells,

Children’s hearts full of joy.

As they shop for a certain toy.

Parents’ glee,

As they put presents under the tree.

Families put up lights,

And hug each other tight.

“It’s Christmas,” they say.

It truly is a happy day!

But we are forgetting an important thing,

How the angels did sing!

And even though presents are fun,

Christmas is also about God’s Son,

Who came into the world

To save us from our sin,

Jesus Christ is Him!

So shout for joy!

And yes, open up your toy.

But remember that Christmas is about Him,

Who saved us from our sin!

He has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecc. 3:11a). View the October newsletter at http://women.ccob.org/ezines/October2017.html

These are all easier said than done. Easier to speak than to live. Easier to remember and recite when things are going well; harder to hold onto when things seem bleak.

Hi ladies. I’ll be sharing at Calvary Chapel ladies retrest in miami Florida.
No time to sit in the sun but that’s ok.
Luv sharing with these ladies.

Some have asked for the William Arthur Ward quote from yesterday's message. Here it is:

With God's strength BEHIND you, His concern FOR you, His love WITHIN you, and His arms BENEATH you, you are more than sufficient for the job AHEAD of you.

In case you missed this morning's study - join us tonight at 7:00pm - and here's the link to the morning message on the CCOB app: https://subsplash.com/ccob/lb/mi/+mfcgrvg
