The Glennallen-Kenny Lake Hockey Team faces off against Houston HS at 6:00 tonight and again on Kenny Lake ice tomorrow morning at 10:00. It was a super-fun day for many of our Upstream Learning students! John Fowler of Chugach Outfitters offered morning and afternoon dog sledding workshops and did a fantastic job of explaining the basics of the sport, as well as important information about the care and handling of sled dogs. And the best part? Every student had the opportunity to experience a short stretch on the sled! #AKlearns #UpstreamLearning #FutureMushers

The Copper River School District is VERY excited to be featured in one of the Gavel Alaska television announcements being aired during this legislative session! We are proud of the opportunities our Basecamp/Trek schedule offers high school students, and we're thrilled to share this model with districts statewide. A million thanks to the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, Alaska School Boards, and the Alaska Superintendents Association for showcasing great things happening in districts across Alaska! #WeAreCRSD #InnovateInsideTheBox #AKlearns #AKleg Alaska Council of School Administrators
Attention, Kenny Lake School parents: Due to the continuing power outage at Kenny Lake School, we will be dismissing school at 12:30 p.m. Kenny Lake staff members are using cell phones right now to reach out to all families. The school phone system is not working due to the power outage, so parents are asked to contact District Office with questions (822-3234 ext 223). Students will only be sent home on bus routes if parent contact has been made. Please help pass the word! Kenny Lake School is the ONLY school being dismissed. Slana and Glennallen Schools will dismiss at the usual afternoon dismissal time (3:10 p.m.). #WinterWeather #InTheDarkAgain #WeAreCRSD

No matter where you are in the Copper River School District, you're probably in the midst of another snowy afternoon. Those south of Copper Center are without power again, but after December's "weather event," at least folks know what to do! Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS tomorrow ... not because of the snow, but because of a teacher in-service day. #MartinLutherKingJrDay #IHaveADream #TeacherInServiceDay
