Cumberland Valley School District is trying to condemn a preserved farm in Silver Spring Township through eminent domain. The farm has been preserved since 1982 through Natural Lands Trust. This 108 a...cre tract of pristine farmland has some of the most fertile soils in the world, and it needs to be protected.

Cumberland Valley is wrong for doing this. There has never been a case in Pennsylvania where a school district tried to condemn preserved farmland in this way. They are abusing the use of eminent domain, and if they succeed, they will erode the public's trust of conservation easements and the government's use of eminent domain for necessary infrastructure improvements. This must stop.

Poor review for trying to condemn the preserved McCormick farmland in silver spring township... An abuse of eminent domain. The lands feature some of the best soil, and needs to be preserved as the or...iginal family intended it. Find other land for your uses, preferable bought by people willing to sell it, not by taking over land left to public trust. I'm disgusted at this abuse of power. What kind of example are you setting for the children you are teaching? See More

I graduated from this school with a great sense of pride. As the years have gone by the district officials have disgraced the legacy of my class and all those before and after. The example of geed d...isplayed is shameful!! Instead of preserving rich history and the land of the Cumberland Valley they choose to destroy it. See More

Poor outlook ... teaching the student body that power overcomes the right thing to do! Leave the Mcormick farm alone, a little fresh air and nature won’t hurt anyone and your monstrous campus is big enough!

Granted I have only experienced one elementary school but I love the teachers, office staff, Principal and learning environment my son has had for going on 5 years. CV has a great school lunch program... that actually makes me jealous(food selections are way above par). The Special Education program is one of the best! I loved my son's teacher K-2, she was fantastic! In 3rd he had a new one and it took some time getting into a groove with her but he did well.

I did everything I could to stay in the district when we bought our new house. A few friends of mine who recently moved into the district did so because of the schools.

Enjoyed my time as a student of the district and it's always a pleasure to come back and see the improvements made in the schools. I can definitely say that I will always be CV Proud!

Very unresponsive and uncommunicative. We deserve more for our tax dollars.
