As the 2018 Winter Olympics commence, we celebrate a new era for women athletes. The women's ski jumping team is set to take flight in its second Olympics in history—81 years after men took their first Olympic jumps. The mindset where “one prefers to see women with nicely mellifluous movements which show elegance and grace, like in ice skating or lawn tennis” is behind us. #EveryonesOutdoors
Misadventures Mag went on a quest for female founders at Outdoor Retailer. For now, they’re few and far between, but the changing narrative creates space for a new ratio in the coming years. In the meantime, please meet nine founders leading the way. #PassionToProfession #EveryonesOutdoors
Over 650 community leaders, members, and participants gathered at Outdoor Retailer to discuss the future of gender equity and women’s leadership in the active-outdoor industries. Following is an account of the event's biggest moments, brightest spots, and most thought-provoking insights. #EveryonesOutdoors
James Edward Mills, founder of The Joy Trip Project, creates a strong case for inclusion as a way to protect our natural environment. #EveryonesOutdoors makes sense not only socially, but environmentally. Learn more about this growing community!
Gianna Andrews: Another woman turning #PassionToProfession! Learn how she expanded her identity as a "mountain athlete" and found her inner artist while recovering from a mountain bike accident. #EveryonesOutdoors
Flexibility is certainly part of the puzzle in accelerating women’s leadership in the workplace. Studies by Werk and Harvard Business Review show that 70% of women who dropped out of the workplace would still be working if they still had flexibility, and that employees who are given the autonomy to work flexibly are happier, more productive, and less likely to quit.
