Love camping during Halloween weekends! This was the second time and I was very disappointed. We put alot into decorating and kids were excited. They took pics of our site and said it was awesome. T...hen when it came to announcing the winners they called wrong site and gave it to the site next to us that only had a stand of lights. They apologized and said they will fix it but I think the fair thing to do was say they had two winning sites so my kids could hear their site won and feel the excitement. Instead they said thanks for not making a big deal and ruining for the kids at site they announced. It was a bummer and although it's all in good fun fair is fair and I believe they should of requested the pic of winning site and made it right. Now we wait to see if they stick to their word and make it right. Overall the campground is awesome with many activities for all. See More

The battery in my van was beyond dead when we went to go home. The Camp D guys were great and on point! They went out of their way to help me get it started with the charge pack they had. We've been g...oing there for years and will continue to go for many years to come! Vreat job with the "AAA" service! Lol See More

I was born and raised in Dearborn. Born in 1940 and lived there thru all the school system. From Oxford school thru Edsel Ford as the first graduating class to go all thru all grades. 1955 until gradu...ation in June of 1958. I recently visited Camp Dearborn. What a shame! Much of it has been taken over by a golf course and it sure doesn't have the vibe of the 50s. I remember the dances at the Canteen, and the park being loaded with young people. Not the way it is now! I realize times change, but it makes me sad. Seashore Pool is totally changed and many other things have changed. Glad I lived there in the "good old days"! See More

Usually have a great time here. Had a wonderful day until. Well at 1 am while camping this is the lovely thing that I get to hear from sitting inside my camper where my kids were supposed to be Thats right, supposed to be sleeping!! Had to move all 3 of them to the couch, fold down table to try and get away from the noise!! Still could hear them. This video was taken after 3 phone calls were made to the office. Over a period of 2 1/2 hours. They said they would call oakland county sheriff's to quiet them down. Why didnt they kick them out!! Completely disgusted that my kids and I had to be subjected to this type of behavior and nothing was done about it. At least 25 people (I stopped counting at 20) yelling every cuss word known, inappropriate stories being yelled and people peeing in full view. Finally turned the heater on to drown out their noises. Oh and not to mention the huge at least 70 in tv they had playing a fight then xbox on. So glad I wasted my time making complaints! I posted a video in the comments. See More

We have camped here many times in the past and never had any problems and always found plenty going on for us and the kids that were fun to do while there. Always had good spots reserved for us. The... only problem I finally started seeing was that when we booked our reservation I would tell them we have a pop-up camper for two adults and then my daughter had a tent for her and two children. They never had a problem with us booking to be on the same site and then all of a sudden when we were setting up one of the attendants told us we shouldn't be on one site. I told them it was clearly booked that way and he said well it shouldn't have been. This happened to us twice after we got there to set up when they brought our fire ring to us in a back site area that didn't have one. They would let us stay but then when we tried to book again they insisted on us having two sites instead of one. We had been there plenty of times prior every year and never had to get two sites. I guess they wanted more money even though we fit just fine on one and had plenty of room on it. Unfortunately that ended us from coming there anymore. Staff needs to get it together on what the rules are so there is no mix ups like this. We miss coming there but camp where we are allowed to be on one site. Other than that it's a great place to camp but unfortunately not for us anymore. See More

I was just there this past week. The campsite was full of cigarette butts when we got there. They did clean it when we ask so that was fine. The campground all around is nice, the beach is super clean.... The problem is this campground is ran by teenagers! I seen maybe two adults the whole week we were there. The bathrooms are really gross. The pool is a 10 ft deep pool where kids are not allowed to wear life jackets or any floating devices! How is that a rule!?! They told us it prevents them from learning how to swim! We had size kids with us and couldn't use the pool because of this. All around the experience was okay...this campground could be a lot better. See More

This camp is way to large with too many sites that are way unkempt. The camp seems to be ran by untrained teenagers. They are all rude and do not keep up on bathroom and shower house cleaning. The offered in full hook ups are so rusty you cannot cook, clean or do anything with it. The pool has a rule where you cannot use flotation devices for young children...i was actually told it's cheaper for their liability insurance for kids to just drown. Wtf. The put put course is a joke. They Charge $5 for you to go on a course that is falling apart and you are not even allowed to use hole 7. Overall I was very disappointed and so was the rest of my group...a total of 6 sites. We will not be back and I will make sure the spread the word. See More

Went out for Halloween weekends. Rained the whole time, but the staff did an amazing job keeping it organized and adjusting to keep almost all the activities going despite the rain. Had an awesome time.

Really great experience ... Clean, with loads to do for big and small ... As said in almost every review, the pool is too cold and some of the bathrooms needs some updating and some hotter shower wate...r would improve the experience ... But, would definitely come again, and enjoyed the new prototype cabin a lot; a much more enjoyable stay ... Thanks to the young adults that work at the camp and keep this place operating ... See More

LOVE IT THERE! Ok, I'll stop yelling. Great place! They have a few different types of cabin rentals (new and older) in various locations. Awesome Tent Rentals that have a separate kitchenette area. Fo...ur different locations for camping; in the trees, out in the Sun and another area up on a hill with trees overlooking a lake that is a quieter area. Beaches are great. I bet the pool is too. Close to town. ALL staff are great, yes everyone I've met or just smiled and waved to. Always a great stay, never disappointed by anything. See More

The lady at the gate was very rude and she almost didn't let me in because I didn't have a day pass. It I told her I was coming from virgins the day before and got to the gate and she was acting like ...she never talked to me when I talked to her less than 24 hours ago but I understand they see different people everyday but when I call and you write my name down and tell me whoever is working to tell my situation to but when I tell you and you don't remember and try not letting me in I'm gonna get pissed. Be more polite and caring next time. I know you're doing your job but still. See More

My family has been going to Camp Dearborn since it opened in 1948 and I have been going since I was in diapers in the early 50's, in fact my family (Schaefer family) has roots in Dearborn when it was ...called Springwells. Recently we have been going with the same group of friends on H row for the past 34 years straight. Things have changed over the years, some good, some not so good but all in all we enjoy our week spending time with friends, their children, and now grandchildren. I can overlook the times the bathrooms are not so clean (this year they were better) or the times we request a repair and get no response, but I have now encountered the one thing that is making me consider calling it quits. They changed check-in from Saturday to Sunday and laughably claim "everybody loves" the change. Not sure who "everyone" is except the camp because I talked to dozens of tent campers and NOT ONE liked Sunday check-in. I considered starting a petition but decided to focus on enjoying my week. We always had family day on Sunday and that is now ruined as we still have to leave early Saturday and visiting family has to work during the week. I even got confirmation when we checked out from two workers that it is very unpopular. I've heard a few reasons for the change, I don't know who to believe but can only think that the camp is looking after it's own interest and not the opinion of their paying returning customers. I've been going to Camp Dearborn for years & years. It was the only place I used to go. Until they stopped 4th of July fireworks there. I hadn't been back since. Till this past week. It was a very time & I will be going back. But really miss the crowd I'd go with. They won't go again until the fireworks return. Which could be never. So I go alone now. See More
