In this country, we pledge allegiance to the flag, not the president. We swear fidelity to the Constitution, not the party. Our flag is a symbol of “one nation... indivisible... with liberty and justice for all.” Our Constitution is the document that protects those liberties and delivers that justice. When we pledge allegiance, we reaffirm our citizenship in a nation founded on ideas and ideals - not ethnicity, race, religion or origin. When we swear to “protect and defend” the Constitution, we promise to uphold the rights, the laws and the institutions that define and govern our nation.
When did so many Republicans decide that we should also pledge allegiance to The Party and swear fidelity to President Trump? I have been called “disloyal” because I am critical of Trump. I am not alone. Many others have been intimidated into silence or compelled to defend the indefensible.
It is not a citizen’s role to be a “loyal fan” of one side or the other. We have no obligation to follow party orthodoxy, whatever it is. When we silence our voices, we relinquish our power as citizen leaders to shape the nation. We abdicate our responsibility to help create a “more perfect union.” And in this country, the citizen, not the President, is sovereign.
Every elected official, including the President, is there to serve the citizenry, not the other way around. It is not a citizen’s job to “be loyal”; it is the official’s job to earn our loyalty. And when they cannot, we vote them out of office.
As citizens it is both our responsibility and our right to hold elected officials accountable: for their words, their actions and the consequences of both.

You're so "into" yourself, Carly, that you aren't paying attention. If YOU WERE, you'd recognize the accomplishments - and yes, even the heart of our President. But you've always got to sound "profound". Even when you're wrong. I voted for YOU in the primaries … but am now GLAD you didn't win the nomination. I'm actually now THRILLED that President Trump won it all … and keeps on winning for WE, THE PEOPLE!! TRUMP 2020.

I really like you Carly, but you should be appreciating Trump. Your criticism of him seems personal when I don't hear you criticizing the terrible politicians that oppose him. While he is far from perfect, there is no comparison with him compared to the hundreds in The Swamp.

In principle I agree with Fiorina's statements, however, under the circumstances, these opinions as expressed serve the purposes of the leftists who are working to destroy the Constitution. Republicans like this may as well be Democrats.
Sadly, I am grateful that this woman is not in the White House. She would have permitted Obama's agenda to continue.

disagreeing with the President is expected, disrespecting him and the office is an insult to everyone and ends any open and honest debate...

Your time came and went. You lost. Quit trying to find fault with our President. Praise what he does that is good. We all make mistakes an no one among us is perfect. We didn't elect a savior. We have one already. We elected someone to fix our problems. Be apart of the solution.

We must always ask the hard...the uncomfortable questions. I didn't vote for Trump. I voted for Ted Cruz. Yet I see Trump has done much of what he said he would do. I'm surprised. And I will vote for him next time unless he does something outrageous.

I am not aware I nor the Republican party is being forced into serving anything except our constitution, rule of law, to honor what our flag stands for and that God needs to remain in our hearts. DT is bringing voters back to these truths. It is the media and crybaby people who are making stuff up.

I have great admiration for Ms. Fiorina and what she did at HP, but after reading the posting, it seems that she is really out of touch. She ignores all the great things that Trump has accomplish in the 2 1/2 years on office. When did the Republicans swear fidelity to Trump? Half the dam Republicans are "NEVER TRUMP" RINOS. Sounds like almost like she's casting The President in the role of a dictator

If you believe that the way the Democratic Party is headed to Socialism is good? They will never get my support ever again for the Consitution means nothing to them. Find the center Democratic Party then just maybe this former Democrat will start listening again.
