These folks are the best.......known them for a long time. Walter, Christie, Adam and everyone. Just had a set up done on my Preston Thompson. Gerald did it in one day and it was perfect. Went from wa...nting to sell guitar to not wanting to put it down. Everyone has different needs and desires in a shop like Carter’s but I just always enjoy the experience of visiting ........Doc See More

Today my wife Melinda and I went to your amazing store for the first time. Life long player and I have always dreamed of visiting when in Nashville. We stopped in today and I feel in love with a lefty... Les Paul Studio. I was assisted by Paul, an amazing and thoughtful man. Blown away by the service and of course the inventory of instruments, amps, and pedals. I now understand their well deserved international fame. Thanks to everyone for making it a very special day for Melinda and I. See More

My favorite guitar shop in all the world. It feels like home. No one rushes you or looks over our shoulder. I love the quality of all their guitars and mandolins, etc. Cater is usually my first st...op when I get to town. It’s guitar Heaven! See More

The selection is amazing. Seriously one of the best I've ever seen. But, more than anything, the service was second to none. Walter the owner helped me surprise my wife for her birthday and his attention to detail helped make it perfect. Highly recommend if you're in the market for a new instrument. See More

I really enjoyed my dealing's with Carter's Vintage Guitar. Kristy hooked me with a really cool 56 P90 Gold Top. And a 1982 58 reissu Korina Flying V. I was treat fair with the price and was treated ...right on the shipping. Kristy herself and her sales staff treated me nicely and professionally.

Stopped by yesterday looking for a maple neck Gibson. Ended up leaving with a PRS Swamp Ash Special 25th anniversary 10 top. Drew Smithers was great. Fantastic vintage shop! I will be back!

The BEST store in the country to buy a vintage instrument! Friendly and very relaxed atmosphere. One thing really great is that they are very fair and do not take advantage when somebody has an inst...rument to sell of value. See More

Although my first - a D-35, was from Gruhn, if I was going to consider anyone else in Nashville, I would also look into Carter, as far as service and reputability goes.

Fantastic guitar shop!! Wish they had one like it in my town! Friendly atmosphere, great vibe and one serious collection of rare beauties. They even have a Dumble! I found a very rare Gibson Zoot Suit... SG in Black and Natural. Got a great deal and they went the extra mile to make me happy. Absolutely love this store and my newest edition to the collection. Will certainly check Carters inventory next time I'm in the markets for something vintage or rare. See More

I bought a Les Paul from you guys a couple of weeks ago. You were kind enough to swap out the brass string nut for a bone nut, and were willing to work a good deal on the pricing. I alway said if I e...ver bought a guitar in Nashville on one of my many visits to Music City that I would buy it from Carter's. Your customer service is A1- something you don't get from other vintage guitar stores there, and you actually want folks to play the instruments instead of being scared that someone might damage it. By far my favorite guitar store, hands down!!!!! See More

Not too friendly on the customer service side. Not one employee said a word to me. Kind of a bad experience. I give it a three because I liked the gear there.
