Engaging through Drama and Intergenerational Theatre

This is an exciting event happening tomorrow, October 7th at 7pm!

GeriActors and Friends will be presenting a drama (creative 20 minute adaptation of King Lear) and open discussion on engaging through intergenerational theatre. The show will take place at CKUA (9804 Jasper Avenue NW). A $10 donation is suggested.

Very interesting ideas on democracy! Deliberative democracy comes up as a potential model for addressing some of the concerns:

"David Moscrop is a strong supporter of the idea of “deliberative” democracy providing resources and incentives to citizens from all political stripes so that they can gather to discuss and advise on policy, using the results to influence politicians and also educate other citizens."

While electing a mayor or prime minister can often be a head-scratching process, a provocative new thesis from the University of British Columbia suggests we may, in fact, be too dumb for democracy.
