The ribollita was surprising ly good with a delicate rosemary background flavor. The pappardell e with rabbit were delicious. My only critic is the wine list. Not impressive and extremely high priced. N...o need to sell for $300 a bottle that could be purchased in Italy for $10-20. See More

Ms. Brandwein' s artistic attention to each dish that exits the kitchen is only surpassed by the masterful pairings of materials and ingredient s. From the Polpo, Raviolini, Costata, to the Carrot Torta..., each were meticulous ly fawned over before arriving at our table.
The tastes were both exotic, but familiar to the palate. Each dish did not disappoint in either savor or presentati on.
The wait staff was fabulous, and eager to ensure our dining experience was one to not be forgotten.
If you are seeking a wonderful meal, with a casual atmosphere perfectly blended with fine dining look no further. Centrolina delivers. See More

I was here on 3-31-2017 for dinner with a colleague. This was my first time, but it won't be my last time. The food was good....an d nice to look at too. I ordered the grouper. It was prepared to o...rder. The service was pretty good too. Although my drink glass did go dry at least once. I chalk that up to being busy. I'll see how it goes the next time. The crowd was a bit trendy for me, but the food made up for their phoniness. I will be back. See More

The best little spot in City Center! Great Staff! This place is done right with the adjoining Mercato.

Great service:at tentive but unobtrusiv e. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming. I took my 13- year-old son,and the wait staff guided him to expand his culinary horizons. Great experience .

With the absolute rash of Italian restaurant s opening in DC, it is refreshing to be able to enjoy lovely house-made pasta (thinking specifical ly of burrata pillows), meat and fish simply but elegantly... seasoned, salads and veg that could easily stand alone. Add some nice wine, thoughtful service and a cosmopolit an venue. For me, that's Centrolina and I have never been disappoint ed. See More

Service overall was good. Timing a little off in the beginning but friendly waiter made a nice recovery. Food was excellent.

Disappoint ed and left hungry. Our table had cocktails, bread, an appetizer to share, a bottle of wine with dinner, and entrees all around. I left starving. In Italy, pasta is typically the first, muc...h cheaper course. At Centrolina , the pasta is just as expensive as the meat and fish options and marketed as an entree (which I like because I love pasta). I am 120 lbs, and I finished the pasta in 7 bites. It was not enough food for $26 and come on it's pasta. My recommenda tion, head to fig and olive or DBGB, the portions are much larger for the same price. The only positive was the service. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. See More

Superb food. Simple modern Italian cuisine executed with a respect for authentic flavours, fresh seasonal ingredient s and an uncomplica ted execution. The very best grilled octopus I've ever enjoyed. G...enuinely engaged, friendly, attentive service by Brianna-- a very competent server with an obvious passion for food. See More

Yesterday' s first visit for lunch included the chicken meatball soup, fettuccine with pancetta/ peas & pappardell e lamb. Latter two had potential. The flavor was there, though both could have used more... sauce which would combat the dryness of the dishes. The soup needed a little salt. Nothing we ate was spectacula r. I had more pasta than the listed meats/ veggies per bowl. There should be a balance. With the leftover pasta, i got to jazz it up the next day with more sustenance at home. Not sure i would revisit or refer folks to dine here. Also, i made an OpenTable res for the lunch, but did not receive points (the following day.) I brought this up with the restaurant , and all i was told over the phone was "We don't see you in our system, so nothing can be done." I truly believe that something could've been done. I have the confirmed email reservatio n and a lunch receipt. This to me, demonstrat ed how nonprofess ional, uncreative , and sloppy a new restaurant shows. Sometimes, when the system fails, perhaps brainpower or human logic should kick in. First impression s are lasting and vital. If you're looking for great Italian cuisine, try Fiola's. Hands down the BEST. See More

I've been there 3 times now and have loved everything I've ordered. I am a VERY picky eater, my plate has been clean after every course and I can't wait to see what Chef Amy Brandwein has up her talen...ted sleeve for me next! See More
