CharityVision shared a fundraiser — supporting CharityVision.

For Giving Tuesday, join us in helping give sight back to the blind. CharityVision puts 100% of your donation towards restoring sight to the blind and those with low vision. For just $10, you can give glasses to a child. For just $25, you can fund a life-changing eye surgery.

This year we are focusing on girls for Giving Tuesday. Unfortunately in many cultures where we work, girls aren't afforded the same opportunities. So for today, we want to focus on giving 1,000 girls their sight back, which will lead to a better education, a better career, and a better future. #soSHEsees #GivingTuesday

Earlier this month, Mitt and I, along with some of our kids and grandkids, traveled to the Philippines with CharityVision. In Manila, CV and Mabuhay Deseret Fou...ndation work with local doctors to perform surgeries to help those with cleft lips and palates, club feet, and blindness due to cataracts. They also provide prosthetics for below-the-knee amputees. Treatment, travel, and accommodation come at no cost to the patients, many of whom are children. We are so proud to support this life-changing work.

This footage was taken from a military plane going into Tacloban. As is shown the devastation is heart breaking. CharityVision is organizing relief efforts and will be focusing on Ormoc, Leyte. We'll be setting up a relief base camp with a core group of twelve US based doctors/specialists who arrive Sunday with equipment and medical supplies. We'll be accompanied by more than 150 locals who have also offer to help with logistics and security.

A few days after Tyhoon Haiyan, survivors gather at the church in Ormoc. The man in the video is teaching the little girl in Orange sign language as they are both deaf and mute. Amazing people willing to help each other during a time of great need. #charityvision www.charityvision.net
