View of the end of the Sangre De Cristo mountains east of Santa Fe looking out of my studio window serving as a backdrop for the adobe houses. At sunset, the Sangre De Cristo mountains can appear blood red, thus the name. The range spans from Southern Colorado to Santa Fe. Throughout my life I have been inspired by the magnificent landscape of the west, especially those special places where the rock soars.

Another series of watercolors working to achieve a minimalist feel that have started called Canyon lands; using quick strokes with a Japanese writing brush on rough watercolor paper. 22" x 14" unframed

Living in New Mexico for over 30 years I have always loved the palette of colors and shapes native to the landscape. The aspen forests nearby are wild and secret places to visit. It's the beginning of fall and the aspen are surrounded by a riot of color. Up in the wilderness in the mountains east of Santa Fe. Before the first snows in the mountains looking out into the wilderness forest.; the colors have changed.

You can always tell when autumn is around the corner in Santa Fe. There is the smell of pinon smoke and green chiles roasting in the air, the mornings are crisp and cool and the aspens in the mountains turn bright yellow seemingly overnight. During a day hike at the end of summer looking out into the wilderness forest.
