We are continuing our community meetings to talk about property crim...e in Cheyenne, this time in the North and West areas of the city.
For anyone living within city limits and living in the west area (CPD West Gray area of the map), we will be hosting a community meeting on May 29th to discuss crime in your neighborhood.
For anyone living within city limits and living in the north area (Green area of the map) we will be hosting a community meeting on June 5th to discuss crime in your neighborhood.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with the Cheyenne Police Department on reducing property crimes where you live. We will present information on crimes in the north and west areas and look forward to collaborating with residents on our approach to crime in Cheyenne.
The meetings will be held at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center, 415 W. 18th St., from 7-8 p.m. on May 29th (West Area) and June 5th (North Area). See More
***Update*** After ensuring everyone's safety involved, officers wer...e able to determine that a physical disturbance had not occurred and no weapons were involved. One subject was arrested on an unrelated warrant.
The Cheyenne Police Department is currently investigating a possible disturbance with firearms at the 1905 E Lincolnway. Please drive with caution in the area as there is heavy emergency vehicle traffic. The case is currently under investigation and will be updated here as it progresses. See More
Be advised US30 is now a construction work zone with posted 45mph sp...eed limit (essentially between Dell Range and E. Pershing- watch for the speed limit signs on US30 for the exact start/end of the zone).
This also means speeding fines are doubled in the area, costing in excess of $400.
Another friendly reminder when driving on a 2 lane road (one lane in either direction such as US30) with speed limits of 45mph or higher, drivers are required to slow down to 20mph below the posted speed limit. In the construction area this means you should be slowing to 25mph when passing stopped emergency vehicles and maintenance vehicles that have their flashing lights on.
Please be cautious driving through the work zone and pay attention to your driving. See More
