Emergency foster needed. These two 3 year old boys were surrendered to a local shelter when their owner passed away. We would love to help them but need a foster to do that. They’re a bonded pair who are good with dogs and love kids please please consider helping. Even if it’s only for a short period of time. They are also looking for their forever home. If able to help please comment below and fill out an application online at Thanks

We had such a great experience with CLR. We got our chocolate lab Lexi (formerly Hershey) who is so sweet and full of love. She has adjusted so well. The process was quick and Kim and Nancy were great... to work with! We are so happy and would definitely go through them again! See More

Very responsive to our specific needs. My wife is legally blind, and we have somewhat more stringent requirements to meet our needs for a loving, yet skilled Labrador retriever.

We showed an interest... in a particular adoption, but promptly received a very courteous response suggesting an alternative companion that seems as though will be a perfect match, when we meet very soon. Thank you !!! See More

Adopting Beau (aka Harley) has been one of the most positive experiences I have gone through. My home visit occurred on a Monday evening, and without my being aware, Debbie and Kim W. immediately working behind the scenes to find the perfect match for our home. On Wednesday I got a call from Beau's foster mom, Margie, and fell in love with Beau on the phone. They could not have found a more perfect dog for us! We brought him home on Friday, and he is everything I could have hoped for. CLR and their volunteers do an incredible job of making sure the adoptions are successful and have a happy ending for everyone! And their ongoing support (especially to me, a first time dog owner) has made a world of difference. I would not hesitate to recommend CLR to anyone. Thank you for my forever friend! See More

Easy Process. They found the perfect dog for our family. When we are ready in July CLR will be the first place we go to.

We had been looking for a Rescue Lab for a few months, going to different Shelters and working with CLR. We really felt very confident we would find the Lab we wanted through CLR, while understanding ...that the process would take some time, in that the people that represent CLR are all Volunteers. We met a wonderful Lady that did our House visit, and the people that were fostering Willie (now Stella), were so caring and honest about her strengths and areas that needed work.
Thank you to everyone at CLR, what you are doing for these homeless Dogs is so compassionate, your efforts are appreciated.

We adopted Maddie a month ago. The process was very smooth and they took great care to make sure we were the right fit for her. That is very important in my mind. I knew the kind of dog I wanted to a home for and they never misrepresented her at all. She was exactly what they said she was! Sweet and lovable! Needing some training and month into it we are so happy to have her in our lives! CLR goes above and beyond to save these poor creatures from kill shelters. I would adopt from them again.....and probably will!Pam Ruminski See More

My name is Mary and I had to do this review from my husband's Facebook page because I was blocked by CLR for questioning practices. I just want to give a buyer beware not to get your hopes up on an an...imal through this rescue. I emailed interest in a dog featured on their Facebook page, no response. Submitted an application, my money was accepted and I was told publicly on Facebook that I would get a call for a home visit only to see the dog was adopted out without giving us an opportunity. I understand this is run by volunteers, but to be told we would get a call and then see the dog adopted out, well, I feel a bit betrayed, but also heartbroken. Just don't get your hopes up is all I can say... See More

I should have posted a review earlier, but I guess late is better than never. When I lost my Lab last spring, I searched around on various Lab rescue sites. At first it was too soon for me to adopt ...but I wanted to get a feel for the sites and decide where I would look when the time was right. I soon came to the conclusion that Chicagoland Lab Rescue was doing things right. I appreciated the pictures and honest descriptions of the available dogs. They seemed to really care. I submitted an application and had a long conversation with one of the directors so that they knew what I was looking for. They identified Zeus for me - an older rescue from an abusive situation who had been beautifully fostered. Our pairing has been a great success and I have since adopted his partner Connor who has some health issues (fully disclosed) that we are working on. I have found CLR to be professional, friendly and truly dedicated to placing their dogs in homes where there is the most chance for success. I hope to have my two adopted companions for many years to come but should I ever need to adopt again, CLR will be the place where I go. I highly recommend CLR to anyone interested in adopting a lab or lab mix. See More

We recently adopted Zeus from CLR and he is a great addition to our family! The volunteers that we worked with (Kim, Kathy, and Cindy) were so helpful and supportive throughout the process. We filled ...out the adoption application and were contacted within a week about the home visit. Within a few days we had the home visit and were able to pick up Zeus from his foster mom. We did the foster-to-adopt program, and officially adopted Zeus after the two weeks of fostering. We would definitely recommend CLR to anyone looking to adopt a dog! See More

CLR was great to work with. Our dogs foster family were incredibly, incredibly nice people.
Living in DuPage Co there were a few hoops to jump through to obtain a rabies tag, which requires a certific...ate from the vet etc. A call to the Joliet animal hosp and they faxed it to CLR (due to customer privacy reasons) and CLR in turn had it emailed to me the next day.

CLR requires that you start prof obedience training with your dog within a month of adoption, which I really like. I think they want to ensure that the dog is going to a home where they're part of the family, not a guard dog. I doubt the guard dog crowd is going through the trouble. Plus the training was more for us than it was the dog lol. Like 90% training us and 10% him.

Anyways, Baxter is a real dream boat and we can't wait till he's old enough to teach a little brother or sister the ropes We had a good experience with both CLR and the foster family that we may consider fostering one ourselves in the near future.

We fostered our first dog last month and found it to be a really positive experience. We weren't pressured to take any specific dog, and ended up fostering a sweet lab mix that got along well with our... dog, and our family. There was plenty of communication with the group leaders, and we definitely didn't feel like we were alone in the process. We received clear instructions and if we had any questions we had all the contacts we needed to get them answered. There is a transportation system in place, too, and we were lucky enough to have the dog delivered to our door. We'll be happy to do it again. See More

My husband and I were blown away by how responsive and compassionate the CLR volunteers are. They truly care about each and every pup they are rescuing. We worked with several area rescues before fi...nding our perfect pup and found CLR to be one of the very best! We haven't had a dog for years and anytime I reached out for guidance they were always there to help. This was true even after the adoption was complete. Our family wasn't complete until we added our pup and we will forever be grateful to CLR for finding the perfect companion for our family. See More

We were so pleased with Chicagoland Lab Rescue. Our new pup, Addie - now know as Camden - is amazing. We truly appreciated how thorough and fair CLR handled the adoption process - from the meet and ...greet to the final adoption. We were second in line to get Camden and CLR kept open communication with us the entire time. We highly recommend CLR - great organization with great people! Thank you for entrusting Camden with us - she's made our life full of energy and happiness! See More

Meet Smoky ! He is about 2 yrs old and weighs about 90 lbs. Smoky is a very talented ball player and wants nothing more in life than to find a forever family to play fetch with him. He is a big boy but couldn’t be any gentler. He does very well with his fosters’ little girls (age 4 and 8) and other dogs. He always wants to be at your side, either playing with you, leaning on you, or making eye contact. He loves to lay in your lap and get a belly rub. He is a quick learner – h...e understood not to jump onto his fosters’ couch in just one day! He listens very well to commands including: sit, shake, drop and no. Smoky doesn’t bark or jump on people, either – he greets new people in the home calmly. He jumps into the car and travels with no issues. Smoky could work on his leash skills and gets very excited when he sees other dogs, but only because he wants to play.
