Thank you to @AriannaHuffington for asking me to share my story with the @ThriveGlbl community. It’s a short piece on how cancer has shaped, not defined, my life.
Funny it came out today. It’s exactly a year to the day when I got the diagnosis. Feeling grateful to be where I am now.
Dipping in and out to say hi . I've been traveling, resting, and learning. Last night...that included learning what Kevin Durant has been up to in Silicon Valley (and meeting teammate Jordan Bell - both seem to be super chill!).
Now I just have to get dinner with the Curry's and my #Warriors fan life is complete .
Moving video by a @BerkeleyFD firefighter whose crew was sent to the #TubbsFire. Such a great point-of-view and even better reminder of the amazing work firefighters do.

We have coverage all across the North Bay (Napa + Sonoma Counties) on NBC Bay Area.
This truly is the most devastating fire I've seen in the area. I am hoping firefighters, who've been working hard with limited resources, are able to start containing these ~15 fires.
- CalFire reports at least one person died and two people suffered serious injuries from one of the fires in Mendocino County.
- Other people injured and some missing.
- 1500 buildings (many homes) destroyed, this is a very conservative number
Heart is breaking for everyone in those communities. Send your prayers and/or positive thoughts if you can...

UPDATE - 3:40am: I couldn't sleep. And now..
@LVMPD 31s31 seconds ago
At this time there is in excess of 50 deceased and over 200 injured individuals.
It is the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

Thank you to all of you who have been commenting + messaging me. Means so much, even if I haven't replied. I've been disconnecting from the internet a lot which has been so refreshing...
And then tonight I decided to go back onto Twitter. That's when news of the Las Vegas mass shooting hit. Now the reports are 20 killed, 100+ injured at the Route 91 concert (country music) near Mandalay Bay in Vegas.
With so many wounded, it's likely the death toll will rise. And now I can't stop hitting refresh because I'm terrified. Doesn't make much sense, but my heart is aching so much that I can't even sleep. I am hoping and praying for those numbers to stop rising.
A Nevada man has just been identified as the suspected gunman, shot dead by police. A 64-year-old man, per NBC News. I don't find his name worth publishing for many reasons.
I will try to sleep but I know when I wake, the news of this horror will still be growing. Still...hoping for the best: that those already wounded will pull through.
What's better than being Janelle Wang's lucky date to the #LuckyRice event in SF? (Hint: not much) Lots of food and drinks (like the boba pictured here a la Boba Guys) = happy Steph 😋. Obviously, the company was the best part.
I'll be gone yet again as I head to a health/wellness program soon. Looking forward to learning more on how to put health first! Happy start of the week to you all 💜.
Good morning! I'm going to be offline a lot this month (cutting out social media as much as possible) so cheers to an incredible remainder of August!
In the meantime... this jury transcript is more entertaining than... it should be.
My heart breaks for the Ly Family. I actually know one of the brothers, Thao, not very well, but well enough to know that he is incredibly caring and sweet. I was shocked when this morning I saw a post of his that connected the dots: His father, known as "Charlie," was the one shot and killed at the San Jose liquor store Monday.
Here is the information for helping the Ly Family as it goes through so much pain.
One piece of "good" news is that the San Jose Police Department tracked down the suspect, Muniunmee Hendrix, a 21-year-old man from San Jose. Still just a suspect, but there's been movement at least in the investigation.
Our family appreciates all the love, support and help during this difficult time. Since GoFundMe deducts a fee, you can give directly to Kevin, my brother: Paypal (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Venmo (Kevin-Ly-4). Thank you so much.
Also, expect area #MUNI delays and street closures.
Here's one video from a witness, posted on Twitter via Shannon Fitzgerald @sfitzgerald75.
My heart is so full. After this last year of having my life flipped upside down, it was so nice to celebrate our future with our closest friends and family 💕.
Hope you are all having a wonderful Friday - cheers to the weekend 😎.
(And yes, that's Christin Ayers of CBS 5 in the background. Proof that we are all actually friends 😜.)
So thankful to have met such wonderful people like Mae through my career and become such good friends ❤️. #tvnews
We first met when she was an intern and I was a reporter. More than a decade later she has taught me more about life and love than she could ever learn from me.... A pillar of strength on camera she does not mess around. Off camera she battles cancer like a boss. I'm beyond grateful to have witnessed my beautiful friend breeze into becoming an amazing woman who reminds us all that there is nothing you can't accomplish when you're #spicystrong. We love you Stephanie Chuang and Tim❤️ Congratulations😘
Wow. The reports when he was first brought back from North Korea was that Otto Warmbier was in a coma. NK officials said he'd fallen into one in 2016.
I thought being a foot away from #StephCurry at practice last year was my fave Dubs moment. Or witnessing the 73rd win in person. Not anymore.
THE BIGGEST THANK... YOU to my friend Kiet Do (watch him on CBS in SF!) for going above and beyond in his support of me. He (and an amazing #Warriors PR team) got Klay Thompson to give me a video shoutout.
I know KT doesn't really know me but man, hearing him say, "Stephanie..." made me legit squeal. Embarrassed? Nope. I'm a Warriors fanatic - that is no secret . #grateful
