So first things first the creamy jalapeno dip and the salsa are really good, those alone earned the two stars. My wife and I stopped in on our way home and ordered chicken enchiladas, a burrito with n...o beans, a kids cheeseburger and a plain cheese quesadilla. Three of the plates came out but we were missing the quesadilla and the burrito had beans in it. It took nearly 15 minutes to get the quesadilla but the corrected burrito still hadn't come back. We finally asked for the bill since the kids were getting restless and we were advised the bill was taken care of due to the issues had. Our waiter went to check on the burrito in case it was up and was willing to put it in a to go box only to come back with a bill and an apology that he had misunderstood the manager. Long story short, extended wait for food, some of which didn't come until it was going into a to go box, and sub par service makes for a negative experience. See More

Some of the staff (not all) are rude. My husband asked the waiter if he could have 2 dipping sauces. The waiter told my husband that he would bring him one and then another after he finished the first.... The hub caps that hang directly over your food are filled with dust. A waitress was standing by the chip bin eating out of it. This is the same bin they scoop from for the customers. Management in Knoxville Chuys is rude. Needless to say we won't be back. See More

As if the food isn’t good enough, the service is great! But more importantly, the genuine kindness that was shown to me by my server (who’s name I cannot remember, sorry!) was incredibly touching and ...meant so much to me. My husband is a police officer. When we were about to leave, she came by our table and asked if she could shake my hand. She told me to please thank my husband for serving our city and thanked me personally for being an officer’s wife. I cannot tell you how much that meant to me. THANK YOU! Your kindness will stay with me forever. Please Chuy’s management recognize her kindness! Please! Please thank her for me again!

(She worked the patio on Feb 22. We were at the table furthest from the front door, near the back door. She has long blonde hair.)

It was busy and very loud. Love the decor and the atmosphere. However, the hub caps were very dusty. The creamy jalapeno dip was good and the chips were amazing. The salsa is very spicy but good too. ...Service was decent. The food itself didn't have a very Tex Mex taste. The fajitas we're great quality meat, but had no seasoning on it. The guacamole was great. The #9 was ok. It was great oven roasted chicken, but I was in the mood for Mexican flavor. Overall a decent experience. See More

Normally we love Chuys but left tonight because the bar tender did not seem to think customers should have the priority over games on in the bar. There is one tv at the bar, and no customer watching t...he game it was on except for himself. Pretty ridiculous. Won’t be making it back to this location for a while. See More

The food is amazing but each time the service was lacking. They get you to your seat in a timely matter. Once you are seated the world slows down, way down. The food does make up for it to a point. I ...have been there four times and everything is very consistent. See More

The best part about Chuy's was the salsa bar and today I was told it is now only available on weekdays at happy hour. Server did not offer any other sauces other than the salsa that was brought with ...the chips so I ate very, very dry pork tacos. Very disappointing. See More

I haven't been to a chuy's in something like 25 years. I had fond memories and since moving to Tennessee wanted to try it again. First ordered a margarita on the rocks and it was perfect. Then came th...e food. I know this place is a chain and normally I try to find small mom and pop places to eat Mexican food but I have to say I was impressed. I had the chimichanga with the hatch green chili sauce. They did skimp on the sauce but what was there was excellent. The rice was done fine as well. Now I'm a big refried beans fan. Their beans could use some work but decent. All in all I'll be back for more. See More

The food was okay I guess. We got there and was told there was a 30 minute wait so we got a pager and headed to the bar to wait. Right as we got our drinks the pager went off so we paid for the drinks... and was showed to our table. We were handed menus and I opened mine to see it covered in mold... if my menu was moldy it kind of makes you wonder what else is moldy. I made sure that the waiter knew of the mold as soon as we ordered and he took the menu (hopefully to disinfect it...) Aside from the moldy menus the rest of the experience was okay. The food was good in spite of the negatives. See More

I visit Chuys once a week, but it's not for having good customer service! The food is always delicious. I never have an issue with finding a mouth-watering item to devour. My complaint comes from how father and I were treated on Sunday. Our server, Ryan M., was appalling. He had a no care attitude and ignored our table while taking the time to check his other tables and make sure they were happy. He brought us the wrong drinks, didn't offer to refill chips, didn't check on us, and honestly came off as a total jerk. When it was time to pay, I had to break a $20 for a tip. I wanted to tip him for his work. He avoided our table for twenty minutes and then slammed the ticket holder on the table and walked away angrily. That is not okay. We were patient. We were polite. All we wanted was decent service and good food. We talked to a manager, but I doubt anything gets done. See More

Reason why I rated this as a 1 Star is because they have horrible customer service and the Manager is nothing but a smartass. Me and my wife asked to be seated in different section and the hostess kep...t looking back at her manager several times shaking his head no so I decided to just set there anyway. We sat for at least 10 minutes with no waitress coming to our table to take our order. Finally after the 12th minute we finally had a waitress come by our table to take our order and I observed this manager say something else to this waitress about us seating there. She advised that this section was closed but I noticed other people in the same section. That was the last draw. We up and left. This place sucks and will never go back. See More

I was really excited to try this place because I'd heard such great things. However, I was very disappointed in the food, with the exception of the creamy jalapeño dip, which was very good! The Chuych...ang was over-fried, so hard that it just crumbled when I tried to cut it, and barely had any filling inside. The sauce was over cooked and had a slight singed/burned taste. The rice and beans were sub-par at best. However, the Tres Leche cake was worth waiting for. But I see no reason for me to drive 20 miles to Knoxville when I can get better Mexican food in Blount county. See More

The food was pricey, portion too big, prices too high, menu too complex for Mexican. The food was a tidbit bland and lacked seasoning. I was not impressed at all and we won’t be returning anytime so...on.

We prefer just simple Mexican foods in normal size portions for reasonable prices.
