In case you missed it - Office of Mental Health shared a recent story about the Citizen Advocates Inc. Adirondack Youth Lodge and its success treating at risk youth. Read on:

The Adirondack Youth Lodge in #UpstateNY was featured in The Malone Telegram for its success treating at-risk youth ages 12-18.

"Our ultimate goal is to have ev...ery youth return to a home setting at the appropriate time,” said Lindsay Hendricks, Housing and Residential Manager for Citizen Advocates. “Besides helping youth build better lives by regularly attending school and engaging in other activities of daily living, their treatment is resulting in fewer interactions with law enforcement and the prevention of avoidable hospitalization — both factors that can negatively impact recovery.”

It was a festive fall mood as Citizen Advocates celebrated the Grand Re-Opening of its Enhanced Day Habilitation Facility, which was dedicated in honor of long-time former CEO Greg Langdon. In addition, nearly 60 employees with 25 or more years of experience were recognized for their service and commitment to the agency. Numerous groups and individuals have contributed countless hours following January’s fire so the newly re-opened, modern facility can once again offer exceptional services to those we support.

The public is invited to attend a Grand Re-Opening ceremony for Citizen Advocates’ Enhanced Day Habilitation Facility on Creighton Road (324 County Route 51) in the Town of Malone.
After several months of hard work involving countless groups and individuals, a renovated and more modern facility has emerged in the aftermath of a devastating fire in January.
There will be guided tours highlighting the new space and exceptional services provided to those supported through Citizen Advocates’ programs and services.
The celebration will include a special dedication honoring former CEO Greg Langdon for his years of service and leadership at Citizen Advocates.
A Dedication & Staff Recognition Ceremony will take place at 5 p.m.
