Citizens had a great time as we took our daughters and sons to work today. Our employees took a variety of approaches to showcase the work they do in Tallahassee and Jacksonville today with mock trials, memory challenges, preparation scavenger hunt, facilities tour, shadowing management during meetings and even tips on weather forecasting. We are so lucky to have this opportunity to educate and inspire our future leaders. Thanks to all who participated and made today great! #WeAreCitizens

Bonus #Insurance101: during the claims process, your first payment may not be your only payment. Your initial payment is the actual cash value (ACV) for your claim minus policy deductible. As repair work starts, you may be entitled to supplemental payments.

Still have questions? Contact your agent to schedule a policy review. They are the best source of information on your coverages and can guide you through your policy. #CitizensIsReady

#HurricanePrep: If you plan to shelter in place, make sure your home is in good repair and up to local hurricane building code specs. Many retrofits do not cost much or take as long to do as you may think. Have the proper plywood, steel or aluminum panels to board up the windows and doors. Remember, your garage door is the most vulnerable opening in your home, so bolster it to withstand the wind. #MitigationMatters #BeReady #CitizensIsReady

#HurricanePrep: Reach out to your agent and ask for a policy check-up to make sure you have enough coverage to repair or even replace your home. Remember, standard policies don't cover flooding and you’ll need separate coverage for it. Also, flood policies require a 30-day waiting period. #BeReady #CitizensIsReady
