CAPE CANAVERAL PARKING REMAINS OPEN, ENCOURAGES WOULD-BE HOLIDAY BEA...CH-GOERS TO CELEBRATE RESPONSIBLY AND RESPECTFULLY
With the increasing number of COVID-19 infections throughout the state and the spike in local cases following the Demo-2 launch on Memorial Day weekend, the City of Cape Canaveral urges Central Florida visitors to err on the side of caution, adhere to CDC guidelines, reconsider their beach plans for the Fourth of July, or at the very least, be respectful and responsible should they decide to spend the day on the beach.
Spending the day at the beach is a summer holiday tradition of hundreds of Florida families, but given the persistent public health threat, this year we have had to do many things differently. Despite phased re-openings throughout the state, it’s important for all Floridians to know that they are still Safer at Home - which for many Central Florida residents could mean celebrating Independence Day in their backyard instead of at the beach.
While Cape Canaveral beaches and beach parking remain open, is critical for both residents and out-of-town visitors to put the safety of their families and their communities first and celebrate the Fourth of July responsibly in small groups, adhering to both local ordinances and CDC guidelines.
