We have an excellent Mayor, a great downtown, especially since we got our fine little General Store and wonderful, friendly people. We are a Historic place with a story to tell.

In June 2017, Gus Lim, Public Works Director, presented the City's new Street Tree and Sidewalk program to the local Mount Tacoma Post of the Society of Military Engineers (SAME). The Street Tree and Sidewalk Program is a new endeavor of the City to correct the conflict between street trees and sidewalks. SAME was established after WWI to preserve the engineering knowledge gained from combat between military and civilian engineers. The Mount Tacoma Post hosts monthly presentations of which Gus Lim was invited to brief the Post. During the March 2018 Post meeting, Gus Lim was presented with the Post's Speaker of the Year Award. Each of the Post members grade/vote on each of the monthly presentations through the year. Congratulations Gus!
