Thank you, Mayor Douglas Kindig, your delivery is under fire but I fully support your right to tell them you don't care. This atheist group has the right to simply not attend a function called “Faith ...and Freedom Day", for goodness sake. The only purpose was to cause trouble and stir the pot. We are far too easily offended in the country now and I'm proud of a politician for being brave enough to speak their mind. See More

Mayor Kindig should accept Omaha Atheists' request to have a conversation. So far, he has proven himself to be belligerent and egotistical when faced with views other than his own. He does have a chan...ce to fix his reputation (remember that the eyes of a nation are on him now), but right now, I do not think he is the right person for the title of mayor. See More

The Mayor of this town clearly doesn't understand the Constitution and the Establishment Clause. He has to represent the whole of the town, not just the majority. Shame on him.

I've bounced all over Omaha in my life. From quaint Dundee to Millard, I am now so proud to call La Vista my home!

I'd like Mayor Kindig to please clarify who he means by "minorities are not going to run my city"? Is he only referring to religious and nonreligious minority groups, and if so, which ones? Does he in...clude other minorities (women, people of color, college students) as well? Also, what population number/threshold is needed to warrant Mayor Kindig's attention? Clearly individual citizens are too small of a number to interest him. Thanks for any information you can provide! See More

The mayor, Douglas Kindig, is a dick who has forgotten that he is supposed to represent all his constituents, even the minorities.

Mayor Kindig’s response to Mr. Fuller was “Take me to fucking court ...because I don’t care,” and later, “Minorities are not going to run my city”. See More

I was just wondering how much those tacky Christmas lights attached to every light pole on 84th street cost? Nothing like wasting money sprucing up a road full of empty buildings!

La Vista, Nebraska Logic:

Idiot City Worker #1: “Hey, we need to hang American flags on the city’s utility poles in honor of Labor Day!”...
Idiot City Worker #2: “Great idea! When should we do it?”
ICW #1: “Oh, I don’t know ... How about SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRIDAY MORNING COMMUTE?”
ICW #2: “That requires completely blocking a lane on one of the busiest streets around. Are you sure that’s wise?”
ICW #1: “Sure! Why not? It’s patriotic, dammit!”
ICW #2: “Well, okay – but only if we can totally screw up traffic in the process.”
ICW #1: “….But wait – there’s an added bonus. IT’S RAINING!”
ICW #2: “Ooooh, that’s just CRUEL. I love it!”
ICW #1: “Muuu-hah-hah-hah!”
