Each year for over 25 years we have enjoyed celebrating New Meadows Days. Our friend, the late Cindy Raney and the Bennett Family, would encourage us to come up and enjoy the food, laughter, and fun i...n New Meadows. With delight, again this year we attended with our wonderful friends Jean and Mike Correia. My goodness! BBQ was excellent! Over the Top! Pies, from the New Meadows Senior center, made with so much love. The sweetest people at the Breakfast. The cooks that volunteered, to the old time music that brought back memories of yesteryear. Laughter and fun at wonderful community parade. Ranchers that took the time out of their overloaded days to drive the tractors down the parade route. Once again not disappointed! A huge thank all the wonderful folks that made it happen! A weekend was filled with everything Cindy and the Bennett's promised. Shouting out to Smokey the Bear for bringing a smile to so many! Even on such a hot day a smile on his face and a big wave. Thank you! Love the Burgess Family See More

As a trucker who frequents US 95 frequently, I wish there was more places to park. Since the dollar store was put in we have to park on the street. There is no place to use the bath room after 9 excep...t the bars. Nice town, New Meadows. It could be great if travelers were better accommodated. See More

Dusty streets and north of $250 to water your lawn! The water must have gold in it cause it keeps going up...I suggest you investigate the fee's before making a decision to live in the city limits!

I would like to say thank you to all the people of new meadow and the employees and turning point gas station for all you did for me and my duddy when we broke down on the pass in the middle of the ni...ght. Turning point gas station and its emplees was great to us. We was in your town for 14 hours until some one from Boise was able to come get us. From this point one every time I make a trip to Coeur D Alene I will make it a point to stop in at Turning Point gas station and say hi. Once again I say thank you and I will never for get all your town did for me that day. I have lots of friends that travel throw your small town I will tell them to stop in for gas or what ever it is to say hi to you all. I wish there was something I could do to say thank you all See More

The toys at the park are ridiculous! I mean really, there is no way that you can get rid of the crap wooden structure and replace it with something that has less slivers. I'm pretty sure money has bee...n raised and there is grants. See More

The Granite Cafe folks made our stay very enjoyable. They cater to the little guys so my 3 year old grandson enjoyed his time there while playing with the dinosaurs. Two thumbs ups!

I just want to thank the City of New Meadows for all the things they do for the youth in the town. Thank you so much guys
Public works is working on a water main break near the park on South Miller. Water users are urged to conserve water by turning off sprinklers. Users may experience lower eater pressure at this time. Please avoid the area. Thank you!

The City of New Meadows has several opportunities to serve!

We have a few openings on the New Meadows Airport Commission, Parks & Recreation Committee, Planning & Zoning and a new Citizen Advisory Group.

If any of these interest you or you know someone that might be interested, please contact City Hall by email...

There are certain residency requirements for the Planning & Zoning Commission, but the others are open.

We would like your opinion!

The Mayor and New Meadows City Council would like to see written public comment on the draft Mission Statement. The draft statement reads:

“To provide citizens with a safe and clean community as we build a vibrant, diverse economy together. Through coordinated and collaborative planning, we will utilize proactive means to provide effective, safe and fiscally responsible municipal programs and services while building and maintaining of adequate capacity to accommodate present and future needs. With the overall health of each resident in mind, we will maintain an open and honest government as we plan for the future while preserving, protecting and enhancing our legacy.”

Cities were formed with three things in mind; Health, Safety & Sanitation. The idea behind forming a New Meadows City Mission Statement is to help guide the decisions the City Council makes to ensure their decisions meet at least the minimum of Health, Safety & Sanitation. Other Idaho Codes require the city remain fiscally responsible by having and staying on a balanced budget, looking to the future in their decision making, and remaining transparent.

Please send an email to or drop us off a written statement as to what you think about this statement. Comments can be left here on this Facebook thread. They will be downloaded and shared with the elected officials at the next meeting. For more information on this topic and others, visit
