Bill & i moved here from Missouri when he accepted the police chief position here. From the very start, we've witnessed the genuine goodness of the townsfolk, businesses, schools, police department, a...nd churches.

This is a town full of truly kind & caring people willing to go the extra mile for their neighbor--and everyone is considered "neighbor". We see evidence of this often, not only in our interactions in public, but even in the virtual world such as in the Clearwater Indian or Virtual Yard Sale here on Facebook.

We are blessed to be here & to be a part of this little slice of Americana, our little piece of Mayberry. :')

The City of Clearwater has the following procedures for snow and ice on the streets:

When snow is 2" or greater the Public Works staff will begin plowing streets within City limits.

With ice, such as we just experienced, the City does not have the equipment capabilities of pre-treating or removing ice. Our practice is to salt/sand intersections as needed.

...

Sedgwick County is responsible for snow/ice removal on Ross St. east and west through town, Diagonal & Tracy south through town and 4th St. north of the four way stop.

With another ice storm expected this evening, please drive carefully.
