I cannot thank the staff enough for their support and attention today having to put a beloved elderly family dog down. I called in advance and on arriving was able to stay outside with her in the car ...until the vet was ready. The vet came outside and was incredible. There was even a blanket and cushion ready for her in the room. The nurse was wonderful, cuddling Tia as the cannula was inserted. We were made to feel like we had all the time in the world and given time to say goodbye. The reception staff were wonderfully kind and supportive too. It was an awful day but made so much better by this wonderful team. Thank you so much and apologies for not knowing names. See More

If I could of given this another star, I would.
I have 2 dogs, and one of them has horrendous skin and is always having regular appointments. The vets down in the Lewes branch are absolute god sends.... Many times have I called, walking in to the centre, in a bit of a state, exhausted of battling unknown skin reactions (owners who have dogs with allergies will understand the strain when you can’t find out what the allergy is!!), they always have given me so much support, and when they could not give me the guidance, they informed me thoroughly where I can get it!
I have been with a couple of vets (changed because of the Service) and I would never look back. When your dogs are your family, this place is the place to check out!

Have always loved visiting our main vets in portslade and seeing the lovely staff (masons best nurse Sarah) and great vet Guy.
Few weeks ago we had a scary time with our fur baby Mason. We had to rush... him down to the out of hours in Brighton and the treatment from the staff from the go was brilliant even helping us with our claim via the insurance. Cannot fault them! Unfortunately mason has been diagnosed with a chondrosarcoma but is Home with us whilst we decide the next steps of treatment. See More

My dog had hip surgery at this practice, following which they offered no physiotherapy. The reason... "to be fair we've had physio therapists in the past but can't keep them due to lack of work" oh an...d your vet is new so didn't know who we could refer to.
The result my dogs leg is totally atrophied, they may as well have cut his leg off. The vet even suggested euthanasia if no improvement for what was simply hyper extension of the hock due to muscle wastage. Thank god I had the foresight to get a second opinion.
After 8 years of being a loyal customer they don't even offer up an apology.
If you care for your pets I wouldn't use this practice.
I own a hair salon with lots of clients that use these vets. I shall be telling them all of my experience.
Disgusting way to treat vulnerable pets and their owners

I go to the coastways in Shoreham by sea, and I must say I have never ever felt so welcomed/ relaxed in a vet. My rat recently passed away just before the festive season and they made a heartbreaking ...situation that little bit better. It didn’t matter that Ronnie was a rat and they treated him the same just as if he was any other pet. We even received a hand written card through the post saying how sorry they was about the loss off Ronnie, we have never had any such treatment from any other surgery. I would highly recommend this surgery! And we go there for all our ratties! Thank you coastways See More

My family have used Coastways for years but I cannot thank Francesca and all the staff at the Kemp town practice this week! My two kittens were very poorly with gastroenteritis and became quite dehydr...ated but the staff were absolutely fantastic! After a few hours of IV and some medication my kittens are pretty much back to normal! The Woodingdean branch is also amazing and Jan there is an absolute gem! See More

can,t recommend coastway enough, especially jenny hill who operated on my cat for an intussusception as an emergency,i am also a regular user of the cattery for harry.i have used coastway since i moved... to kemptown in 1992.my previous two cats were also well looked after. jenny has also treated my previous 2 cats for emergencies tiger when he collapsed with a heart problem then subsequently by andreas the heart specialist and holly when she had liver and kidney disease looked after by paul and on both occasions i had a lovely sympathy card when they both sadly passed away. took our beautiful GSD in today for a weigh in before getting her flea treatment. i think i can safely say she wooed the lovely ladies on reception. We had to update her old address details to ours, h...ad a chat about treatment for her hips, was given a leaflet for senior dog clinics, advice about joint supplements and a suggestion that using their hydrotherapy and massage facility's would probably be beneficial. Nothing was an issue for the lovely receptionists. nothing was rushed. Thank you Brighton Coastway Vets. You are all amazing and caring. See More

Unfortunately customer service has dipped below a level that I will entertain so it’s off to pastures new with my dog and cat.... if you pay for a monthly service then that’s what should happen and if... there’s a problem then there’s the right way and a wrong way of dealing with it, guess which way Coastway decided ...... I would like to thank them so muc...h for their outstanding care to Poppy, me and my mother-in-law. Also for the beautiful sympathy card they sent us afterwards, we were all so touched for by your kind message. Thank you so much. I shall never forget your kindness ❤️ See More

Not the cheapest around, but they handle my very anxious dog very well and sensitively. They’ve given us extra time to make sure she’s comfortable, particularly the nurses.

I've been with Coastways for six years, and always had friendly, professional service. My Tilly was operated on last week, and Jenny (and Paul) were brilliant - professional, sympathetic and most of a...ll they healed my dog. I'll always recommend Coastways. See More

First time at the Brighton practice and found it to be a lovely place with exceptionally warm, polite and knowledgeable staff. Special thank you to Celine for seeing and treating Rorschach.

My cat Boris recently suffered from an infection, all the vets and nurse who I dealt with were professional and took time to explain everything.

I have been registered about six months with Coastway Vets and have been nothing but unimpressed and disappointed with their service. They do not listen to what we, as dog guardians who know our dogs,... have to say. Those times we have had ideas of what could be going on for our dogs, it categorically is denied, almost as if they feel the need to say "no you are wrong" for the sake of it. Without any follow on question or discussion. Every visit we have had, there have been no explanations, no clarity nor curtsy. When asked questions the vets get irritated and defensive. So for a fat bill, most of the time (although symptoms have been vary varied) I go home no wiser, only with the recommendation to feed my dog chicken and rice. I would not recommend this service to anybody and will change vet first thing tomorrow morning. See More

Andreas, you have been simply outstanding in the exemplary way you have for many years looked after our beloved Airedale Terriers, Cassius and Kira. Sadly we have lost both of them in less than two m...onths, first and suddenly was Kira at 11.5 years old (who we rescued from Glasgow aged 15 months), and last week Cassius, (who we'd owned since a puppy) at nearly 14 years old - a great age for an Airedale! We take solace and reassurance in knowing that both dogs had a wonderful life with us and that we, together with Andreas's help did everything possible for them. Not only in being a super vet over the years and especially in the twilight of their time he has been a rock of support to us and his deep care and understanding the dogs' needs shining through every time.

Going beyond the immediate medical care, when Kira passed, Andreas also suggested we think about getting another, smaller female dog to ease the grief and also give some new life to the ageing Cassius. We love Terrier character so settled on a Lakeland Terrier - found a lovely breeder in Leicester and two weeks ago became the proud owners of Sasha. They became great friends for only 10 days before Cassius sadly went to the Grand Kennel above (again Andreas and Paula at Rottingdean were simply amazing at this time - so truly caring and professional), but I truly believe Cassius had welcomed her into the family before handing over his mantle.

Had we not taken Andreas's advice we would have been in an awful place at the moment, but having Sasha as a new lease of life in the home is a gift! She's so full of life and character it's impossible to be sad for too long - although Cassius and Kira will always be in our hearts.

A totally new idea and shot across the bows from Andreas saying we should consider showing her her...let's she how she develops in time but thank you for all you have done for the Airedale's and undoubtedly in the future for Sasha too.

Thank you very much Andreas - born to be a veterinary surgeon!

Took my boy in to have minor op at the Brighton branch and just wanted to say thank you to the staff for taking into account his reactivity to other dogs and not making me or him feel like it was an ...inconvenience. And to the lovely nurse who let us leave via the fire exit so he did not have to be walked through a very busy waiting room after his op. See More
