And The worst part is not having even 911 to call when there's trouble your own and no law enforcement. You see strong people and the community step up down others because there is no. State Police. There is. Even public safety officers and And most of our building and we have many categories of peace officers, public safety, the search the live police officers maybe even a trooper or two but it's not a system. It's All of the pieces that you need to have a safe community. There's no one to report the crimes to no one to investigate and no one to respond. You know, one direct the data of what happened. What was the crime and in Alaska, we have like a checkerboard type of system. The tribes have jurisdiction in some places, but not others, and their might not ever be enough money to have troops in every location. I think it can be better though. I think they can't have training that would go a long way to help people and have organized systems of reporting what the crimes are. In the smaller community, sometimes even the healthy, this one has respond and that takes a lot out of view of the gumption if you have to. Work so far what your job description says there were no treaties after knowing being full abandon and winning to amend the definition of Indian country. And be able to accept land into trust. Thank you all for to resolve I found across the country for help in survivor or impossible as well as others sisters. Obviously, I understand the relationship safety great great great grandfather served as a Speaker of Council. Georgia was trying to remove our entire nation, one of their tactics they used to try to distract. And we have to show it was an instruction that the jury great-grandmother has the law Council, regardless of racism, be prosecuted, of course 1970 - eight, and when I say all of I'm able to exercise their inherent. Devastation that has brought to the tribe create as well, who also added complication that the Supreme Court also decided country. happy my now indian pressure can just asking for vajpayee executive member they have in his hands of four restoration acquisition last few words this action something they have our country to stress that offers and to make some position relax factors of In terms of outside, okay, try, state federal, and then this becomes a crazy set of questions involving where the critic place the identities of the victims and certain scenarios that make for a Dream. You know as the question on their mind, but that is very problematic for our family members, our survivors. Because the first thing that happens when the police report their daughter missing, the question becomes where she last seen she's seen honored issue seeing patients if there's a crime involved and he starts to question and often become the excuse or the justification for federal government services. my purpose contacted by Family of Peace previous she's involved. shyam hours from where from them in words you there for crony share of very much and in our state of us today is the share of us did not interrupt me in addition persons one of our of fire as terrorist we will call the company because that is a master demon for student person Family So when we talk about right, but the key is how you gonna get those States right mission they have had in the last 10 years. 20 -, six in the last 10 years, one of the highest counties in the nation. What is going to compel this County legal inchaço piscina é mais Our hearts with our children providing five miles. This is a minute whether there was a crime place in history seriously, one of our girls President and that is not happening across crisis in the County in Montana but because he say. The United States will not be questions. Congress is, I know we're working on passed, but how would you handle their arm to what Congress can do without the state law enforcement? But how do we create a solution that brings the table? Be nice District attorney to the table to be meaningful partners. Make sure that our actual investigation is taken and the decision that the you know the investigate do not say here's what's happening. We don't know the other prosecutors but right now this National. You cannot scare. हुए i'm going to call लड़का government we have today so we should always constant score thank you out Well. This bag. Stay stay. It gets more and more distracting and disturbing to me and so I just want to acknowledge the tragedy that this this is. I wanted to diverse turn to understand try that as a police officer, I give you the lean a little bit The National resilience you're talking about resilience but framed in a way that is really a little bit more because resilience is is not necessarily a positive thing sort of built in a lot of cyclical problems, a lot of barriers and gave me hope attract. Can you talk a little bit of? Beautiful testimony just to system पर जनता झूठ အေ လ အ ပြ Particular issues like this, which is the problems. Managing one of the things is just really addressing what exactly our relationship essence government teacher. what past issues have been settled law regarding the American people in attention to take children to take care. President. Covered from that to say that we are or anything like that something has happened and it's distracted. People become doctors and contact is not for people into being. That was not suppose to be. So I'm teaching and customs and traditions everyone has spoken about. só essa pessoa até final de esmalte ficavam geração So I made the decision the decision in 1970 - eight that basically said, hey, you can't be prosecuted on native land and what was your goal from town? Full protection by statue about my native for that situation seven after i do now go check out a mine and so so i am sure that of rights ah which one twenty seven teacher जैसे police of survive के asked start to take some ah So and so we need to fix and I think it's really important to educate people just like she said you know there's no like cancellation possible. Why? Why are they women tend? This is something about their cheese or is because we have given curb blush. This is a pleasure and if you get caught you're gonna press you and so I appreciate your testimony and we make sure the space of the record and we need to extend you. Thank you very much. I can curb their Supreme Court decisions over the years. they probably decided I would say this is one of them and we are very consequences. ah that's true in it and our our shame for am each test series we today that nation is home to you know espera de praia Thank you, Mister New York, Scared California and my colleague Dead home were two of the first people to be United States. Thank you. thank you all for your testimony and so but it's necessary. The first step to addressing awareness and mortgage rates will be really interesting today. This time I have path crossed the prosecutor in the industry. You know cases and I see the police since 2009. Yeah, I'm quite sure there so little different than someone. Situation cuz you can't law enforcement. that's pretty much established and you do a search police and DEA agencies. this isn't it's close to my district since I wouldn't know that two of the five minutes of my district I haven't talked to there's it's not around us. It is also is the group of people that are statistics that is a barrier that we cannot get asked they're Justice agencies Police Ministry. President is not such a story. that's what our children will see ourselves as just a lot. We have great. as you said people like come down way to come to sit with us to share ideas to support. that really gets to talk about that. success and therefore i believe that for sure ah this is our nations of people asking something as a women American girl from the individual has been mostly sitting in there and showing the officer's face in mind for Jesus because it's hard for us to think of this group. this ethnic group in group, our relationships have been we've had to give a little. This kind of government and like this like this like this starts to alleviate that it will always be. you know we'll check you out the most. what we have, there's hope and that's why we're shifting our energy to something that will work force. That's good company maybe have made together weekend. you know trying to trying to help. I shouldn't trust me. It's always. I understand completely from being out there. There's a sometimes I wish people out there everybody. We can legislative standpoint or discussed that definitely help something different. How are you? thank you support all the agencies around us, even though our collection short people have to rise through this need as well. It's a different kind of game and we are people like themselves and there's equal responsibility on both sides but tireless over here who spoke about those changes myself. So I know what would alleviate that other than that, we've got continue to follow my heart. ် fu ပ အာ ာသ ကို တွေ ေပါပြီ တွေ အာ ta ti စu ကတော့ သော စာအုပ မှ ဆ f သ ပြီးတေ we continue to relationships to build a better our people. We have met border sexual assault in a car in American steak so that connected peace with the Registry Canada so we can. agus polres She has the original sponsor of Justice for Survivors of Sexual Violence, Act to allow tragic consecutive sexual assault strategy. That's that's that's that's why. and also another not Invisible Act establishing the advisory violence service providers and survivors recognition Department interior part of Justice. So. Alright, next was worse. teli समाज क्षेत्र shares are putting dust and all of you to be a m is hard wasn't i am sure there is much much of summer and self we are always turn off to our army are on a being years ah i square presentation to mother series on fourteenth ah by see as in and for seeing of is not in and making sure that these kinds of not only to work is can section artificial am per The State of Washington on crimes against. Anyone that? Statement my shirt digging down into this to see what was happening on a local level. I talked to the first head of the police Department and they're very cautious and they would get information and he said if an arrest is not made, they do not even know domestic violence. around in time The other thing is off to the side if you wanna see our training documents you're gonna have to talk to the trooper so I did, he said. Well, you're gonna have to talk to the Commissioner because of this. You're not entitled to see this. Why shouldn't be that way? You know you know and now importance of the skin Act houses. Portions of that if we cannot take that we should be looking at specifically to address the issue. I want to follow up with them. Yeah. thank you. this day gonna see you again and I wanna thank you for your testimony so we're watching this is You know, the history that is having such a real and terrible effect on people's lives today, abandon act and beyond the Justice after their other pools of their other ways that we can not restore Jersey destiny As you know it's worth it. House did pass legislation HR I critical. Hopefully they will hold true to the right of the House in addition to restoring their patients. you know on access is a huge issue. So President of the Encounter Sheriff Office failed her. There are National statistics what gets tries to their own citizens because that. Part of the church and that access is critical and has described Congress did create a tribal access program, tap Justice and the goal tap to give tribe access to this Saturdays as a member. 18. 20 - seven so 40 - seven last call basis. that's 570 - three right and so that is also feels like protecting okay. So my name is protect. Try can't back into the National database and if she traveled Doesn't have access. This happened condition. There's a federal law that may say federal crime for anyone who purchase firearms well, if decide access became the prosecution where that individual law but they. it is actually ah just so so as our cases of the after Anything to add on that. Tap program. What is the delay? What is the slow deployment are the curves that are. It's really fun. yeah. take ah that is there are funding in the world we happened there is something at अनाज okay what to experience ah forty seven operations finance minister so i think it for a tv and access to say in this ah in the I think actually keeping us right, so I just keep eating and then keeping my shame whatever that patients maintain that were saying and it also trained technical. Alright. Pretty much from California Co-chair task Sexual. I can match her. Thank you all for being here. I'd like to go back to a discussion on Sarah in particular. she was found on US soil. Her body was found. so so i'll why she automatically for in studio at that place within you a system our tire to breakfast and i don't accept and and state hands station of nations and that in a success so they will ask to they have share of us and to your and it for me which ah my spoke ah ah one did not in excel please The best is just as often times don't care about me. If this was a French tourist body was family, the United States. We wouldn't see jurisdiction to France to find out what went wrong. Oh absolutely. I mean as. It would be a comment on local law enforcement to process that as a murder and investigate what it meant and I think you know there's you know there was a large family. organized started attention around. so now it does share. Investigation now. she's very sweet and without like number 12 so there's a lot of outright going on here but the whole government accountable for this. Question for Congress. I realized that you can require County sheriff's offices to do but I think we need to critically about that. I'm not sure that region and I think larger problem here right. Let me ask you this. the cost of having a tribe be eligible to to actually. To the database is about how much money. Thousand dollars And we have about 450 tribes that can't post to it. It seems like budget dust in the scheme of things and yet it would be so important. I think to handle these cases. Think of it. In 2016, nearly 6000 indigenous women and girls were reported missing, but only a hundred and 16. we're into the federal missing person's status that. Testing. Are these missing girls who we presume our nails death? i think seven days a very warm hearts in that us that for areas in unity seventy you how the share congress it constitution history terrorism in start to life just Crisis in terms of and crimes following the the issue of not prosecuting cases where the the perpetrator is a non Indian. One percentage of cases cases, Indiana. I don't think. experience this is a hard for such a long to send it hours please ah interest for across the fact by our intelligence people or by for this yes don't say that you have the process after forty six Asked to rate and not sure if we have to show that the majority of the clients clear we have people our community, this violence, that's really important too that we have. You know, advocates law enforcement, you know, that's you know that is. i was power कोई fast i i भारत के नीचे या Generations from school, we are our families are our citizens are traumatizing and we have a lot of healing to do within our communities. ရတ ကျ pent ရှ အဲ့ဒါမျို ပြီ စာအုပ်ဦ Outside the natural law that may have to be protect our nation's their agencies, our investigation. Two quick questions first of all just savior you have access to the National. 40 - Seven access if it's 50020 - seven million, I think 50000 taking 50000 times in $50000 appropriation. That's something we can fix We're just talking about our task, we work and so we will take a look some of the legislation to put together agenda of bills that we could in a bipartisan way and I regret that the press with us here today. Could hold a press conference invite you all people have a lot of commitments that we really have but if you never show up today and decision going forward and try to get some some critical legislation moving in the Senate to move on the bottom and that point, I think that. we have understood that we enjoy events finds a rich experiment for actually in my and persons as such i am just forward and that making people born come back go after interest stations in the last day and lastly thank And find some way to hold them accountable either through restricting or something like that. the discussion we're having. Why would you championships cities, villages counties? One move up. the governmental agency that has the best is you know, when we first started, the DNA was being taken from all these people find people responsible brain. 90 percent Imagine that type of scenario if you had a D N A database start really getting something done and then we say Fred for us is that work on what is required to have a project, kids and trying to put the resources to make sure those will be processed because what we found when. ah this user at how to responsibility but it has over great story of family in that india art and that's where i carry as we describe this future station used without an supplements that you know to products are end in case learn arms months that what is said and all you see now of just ah from my soul how was that ah it is on the hands this ah everyone in and out so guys we will introduce Our new country and we are inspired by everyday. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. Thank you. I don't have a lot of time hearing. you know being in my office but I did just if I can get questions that I will. I wanted to acknowledge that Indigenous people day the other day good afternoon the out first and and the moments which is so great for and inspired by your presence i have always attract a child is just to show your priority i just want to know this time is five out of town and children talent century also join them seven how do so much for the water use conditions achieved lasted for them so stay at me association and even after once you how ment सिर्फ forget about that topic to ah we have been with ah standards who are here was constraint for what is on app on the sensor ah student that if your point समझा इसकी constancy about this issue skin from spray sixteen Just a few generations but it's been happening since the Europeans came to this continent. I'm sure you could walk in the archives and the Journals of people who you're appealing who came here and fine case indicates cases. Women were stolen taken for one reason or another children. I know. In my in our communities experienced that time after time and then as you mentioned all the other issues supporting scholars, immigration, all of those all of those things that saw to destroy us and and they didn't work. So here we are and I'm just so grateful for the work that you're all doing and I wanted you to know that I just appreciate you being here. I think I have time to review questions and I was just curious what resources are currently available in your community for families to go from trauma and what other resources are still needed. The question. it seems. Round and round fight all of the best efforts of everyone. People are still living in unbelievable conditions, particularly up North. They you know, if you're a shade House up, their chances are you're gonna get your password, but I had a conversation with that little seven -year-old girl in the क्या she was there she tomatoes the other important announce them She said it's normally this horrific thing is normalized. I think that's the worst of it all, but I think that Things that you can do for children that build their self esteem are gonna make a change and the other thing that used to happen is I don't have anybody permission to say this and I think that when our relatives to these horrific things to our cousins and our brothers. And all these people that we need to stand up for the people that have been victimized and that's not happening. I haven't seen it. It's gonna happen within the culture to happen within. Put a stamp of approval on this. now our people are not the worst offenders but until we kill that piece, we're just gonna keep cycling around cycling and it's truly heartbreaking to see. thank you first year na i have personal actually uhm ah एक room है four seven six sir we are straight you use for that thank you so much today here I hope that passion we have for you for your people and for having us as we're calling. It was also hoping to be with us today. I just wanna make sure that important for us to have you with us. just here to tell your story is they put in every day and we have that as in your school and responses information hours others here you are and today work together the school in spirit and to become a covered promotions and stay from not child for any how the wealth and done so if you had a students and the pronoun i want to say that i love this one this area and on that she would be in the mountains to situation our stable in proper purport eighteen opportunities and i've said just i was told to find the power of the biggest would be able to their every where four and this in And so I have been trying to do whatever I can to try to address this panel and your courage and your resilience and your work is so important. most of the questions I had have to do with the quality of work that they were dealing with in trying to put together this report and so I need talk about access to basis. but it also seems like it must be a list that you all have of all of the. the app so that we can really shows back contact of this issue and of a strong solutions and so ah some of the things and take part in our you know uniform education this association for the issue in one percent and made in india i am asking me he is correct incredible so my question to you is that was very Saying about this, my question is what is the data that we should be going to changes that we should be making both is collected and how these relationships we learned about relationships that don't work across the board. But what are those things that we need to make sure we're addressing within you know within solutions. The actual individual people, survivor situation and if they don't have a voice or feel comfortable, they will never be comforted. and I think that should toward the years two year because sometimes it comes out and it was like there's something so So I believe our own terror compound in here to say we can't hear that they're not being heard. It's almost time to take time out and figure out what is it? Is it? The situation of the offices set up is in training. People can count things because of situations that they're are. It's just a matter of person there. several shared access to services for women to be able to have a comfortable place to talk to reporters should be able to just have an advocate on your side. Communities advocacy and I think that's important recognize with our current federal civility and how we address our welcomes being able to use culturally appropriate responses to be able to feel comfortable as onto the other side really cash. Close to the therapy team Amazing work and you know just recently released lost two weeks or so was moving so Washington state legislation and study passed created report and she had a future. Again having solution designed by four right and I just the different ways that I want you to stay short, stand and ask questions and issues. so much of this federal solutions that are very critical. funding efficient efficient. Today's very good idea start at the end of the day too. Really to hold their own accountable, someone Washington when they put in with whatever those solutions, I think we're just starting the competition. I don't think we've actually found well. we thank you for that and we are working with those schools all the time. They're amazing. also just. The Family Violence Prevention Services Act is gonna be up for reauthorization and so I'll be taking that and I would love to know what kinds of things around the listening and the funds programs and education programs. We could potentially build into that as well. thank you all so much for this task force for the work that you're doing in life. Yes, I have a suggestion for you on that last question. I worked on the Indian Child Welfare Act Agreement for decades ago and seems to really home when you're working with people that are just sure you know. People that the do not work and well together, they need to have regular meetings with the other energies with the PSO, the Village police officers with the the other people do law enforcement because good will come and I think they'll the find ways that they can help each other and maybe provide more. What they've done and but to do the method is not okay so you need some sort of a reporting mechanism just to see you know quarterly what what's happening? What can we do from their perspective? Let the state bring us some ideas of how can we know them to do their job out there and I think it's time to really first of all said at the same table. That's perfect final. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you sergeant ever helping educate us because we love this woman is clearly important to us and I will thank you. Works with all of our children and our schedules big part of this issue and we look forward to working with you. Let's work it out.
