1000 1400 $1436 per month, the resource limit is 9003. 9360 for a married individual. The income limit is 1900. $1940 per month, and the resource limit is 14800. $14800 for the partial subsidy um for a single individual the monthly income limit is 1500. 1595. $1595 per month, with a resource limit of 14600. $14610 and for. The limit is 2100. $2155 per month um and the resource limit is 29000. 29160 and so one of the benefits of applying online is that if both you and your spouse want to apply at the same time you can do so with the one application and um if you want more information about this program, if you're not sure if you qualify, you can just give us a call to schedule an appointment with our counselors um and Go over more detail about this program and um how they can provide assistance with applying for the program. And so the third program is the Medi-Cal 250% 250% Working disabled program. so this program is specifically for people who have a disability um and so when they're being evaluated for this program, Medi-Cal does not count disability income toward the income limit. And so this includes a worker's comp SDI. So that's not. To to affect the income threshold the person that does need to meet the federal definition of having a disability and they also have to be earning money by working at least 1 hour per month. and so it's called the 250%. 250% working disabled program because the income limit is 250%. 250% of the federal poverty level. So this means that for a single individual that income limit is 2658. With our resource limit of $2000 and for a married person, the income limit is 3590. 3591 with an asset or a resource limit of $3000 and so our counselors can guide you through this process, It can go over the benefits of the program. um what you need to do to apply and we can also assist with the application. Uh we have a partnership with the office that. That processes applications for this program, so we're able to send it directly to them if you currently don't have Medicare, but it seems like you will qualify based on the requirements. Um we can also submit the Medi-Cal application at the same time that you're applying for the program uh so again just give us a call and we can um go over more detail about this program and help you with the application process if you want our assistance. Next slide And so um as I mentioned our counselors can help narrow down options for your coverage. and so in October, we have the Medicare Open enrollment period and that goes from October 15th to December 7th so CH CR counselor can assist with a plan if you want to enroll in a prescription drug plan move from one prescription drug plan to another enroll in a Medicare advantage plan for a stand alone Prescription drug plan, or if you want to move from one Medicare Advantage plan to a different. And so uh October to December, are some of our busiest time. So it's um it's best that you call sooner rather than later around the time that uh the open enrollment period begins is when we're able to view uh benefits for the plans in 2021 um and that's because uh the open enrollment period is for changes that will take effect in January of 2021. um so again we. We can do a search for you based on your individual needs if you want to make sure that your prescription drugs are going to continue to be covered by your current coverage by your current plan. um if you want to find another plan that you want to make sure that you uh that they will continue to be covered or if you want to stay with the same doctor and you're not sure if you'll be able to see them if you make changes those are all things that are counselors can help you find the answers to. Next slide Right and so we normally do get a lot of calls from people um who have been given a share of cost with me and um as I mentioned earlier, it's something that we are able to help people with um guide them through the process of eliminating it, but uh due to the pandemic uh the governor issued an executive order that's suspense reductions in Medi-Cal coverage uh during the covid-nineteen um emergency so the Department of. Care services has instructed all California counties to suspend a processing annual renewals and determinations of Medi-Cal that would reduce Medicare coverage during the emergency. So what does this mean that life? please? please? So during the covid-nineteen emergency period persons who have Medi-Cal should not have their Medicare benefits reduced or terminated, and so what we're talking about a reduction of coverage. We're talking about a share of cost so you should not um during between April, May June July August September, and October, but you shouldn't have any notices letting you know that you will have a share of cost during the month of. October You should not have a share of cost so if you have been given a share of cost for Medicare, uh you can give us a call um we've been helping resolve the issue by reporting these cases to medal and so far we've been successful in getting those removed um at the earliest, we expect that Medi-Cal is going to start uh processing renewals and red determinations um on October 25th 2020 um and so at that. Uh people should if there is no extension to the suspension um people will start seeing a share of cost and um November as early as November. And so again if you want to speak to one of our counselors if you have questions about what um I've spoken about today or um if you need help with an issue that you're dealing with Medicare Medicare Medicare um just give us a call and you'll be um scheduled for an appointment over the phone and again. that number is one 800 808 240780. You can also visit our. Health Care Rights.Org um and we do have a publications page where we have some of our materials that go into detail about what Medicare is some of the options you have. We have flyers on some of our programs like the ones that I've spoken about today um so feel free to visit our website or schedule an appointment with one of our counselors. Thank you. Well, Thank you so much for that. Thank you to all our presenters and those of you who are still with us. um Thank you so much for joining our event. Um I wanted just to quickly um announce our last uh two winners. Uh we wanna give a shout out to Mark Flores from Lynwood who who voluntary voluntarily said. You know I wanna give up my my my price and give it to somebody else and so we have Linda from Southgate, Linda P from Southgate. You are one of our raffle. And our second winner is Dennis from Wilmington, Dennis um you uh uh are our winner as well and so we can thank Mark Flores for from Lynwood for the opportunity to have two additional people as opposed to one additional person um I did see one question. Come up. Oh excuse me on the chat box that I wanted to address a Daniel if you're still there, he ask. Do you anticipate uh there will be a final. For a leaf or do you think there's a chance that any relief gets incorporated into the FY 21 appropriations at the end of September, um Daniel I wish I had an answer for you. Um I can just tell you that uh the Speaker, Pelosi has been working very diligently um to meet with uh the Republican leadership to come up with an agreement to get relief um again another $1200 would be helpful for many people and uh to be able to. Unemployment benefits is gonna be really critical. We're already hearing from people who are concerned about what they will not be able to afford and what that means for them in housing and groceries and Medicare costs and um cost for the medical bills and so we're gonna continue to push um do I think that there might be something in the end of the year? appropriations. I think that's another tool in the toolbox. We have to pass a unless you're spending bill before the end of September. That's. Referring to and um that's always something we can try to put some provisions into that bill um that has to get passed before the end of September uh to get some relief and so we want to uh we will continue to fight for our values and that's helping people in a time of need. This is an unprecedented time and so um that will continue and it's just hard to say because um our colleagues on the other side, just don't believe in providing the assistance that's necessary um and if they do, it's it's um nearly. it's And not as helpful, so, but we'll continue to push. I wish I had a better answer for you. so this concludes our event today. Um I know it wasn't the same as being in a little photo booth with people and taking photos and being able to give people a hugs and um shaking hands as we've done every year until one of my favorite parts is when we welcome people off of the buses coming from the different events and um and so I just thought it was really need to uh able to still do something. something um. And that's why we did this this virtual event today and so I know there's probably people who either didn't hear about the event that usually come to our event or maybe they didn't have access to the internet um for whatever reason um we're sorry if we missed you this year but uh we know that as we continue this fight um and it has been a fight for the last several years in Washington. um I will continue to fight with my colleagues to make it a priority to protect Social Security to protect Medicare and to protect many of. This services that you've earned um and that are helpful um for your quality of life. Um I will continue to work in Congress to keep you and all Americans healthy through this uncertain times and I wanna take an opportunity to let you know if you have any questions again, please contact our office um some of you already uh interact with our staff feel free to reach out to our staff. Um that number again is 310 831 1799. I wanna thank our. Today um our performers and everyone who joined us, it was a great to be able to to provide some information that hopefully you found helpful. I'm sure that many of you are ready to return at some form of normalcy and spending time with family and friends. um just be careful when you do um, I'm not sure when we're gonna be back to any kind of normal, but one of the things that we have been hearing from Doctor Crouch has been a concern about what's gonna happen when the flu season starts. Up and the symptoms of the flu versus the symptoms of that are very similar and what it's gonna mean and so we know that there has been an increase of the order of um of the flu vaccine this year. uh so if you are uh certainly if you're vulnerable if you're older, I will just encourage you to get that flu shot this year um and make sure when you do so you get it early to help us get through this and um you know to trying keep you as healthy. We can um during this really tough time, so I'm also now we're hearing a lot about a vaccine for uh we don't have any information about the timeline. really we don't have any information about what a vaccine would mean if it's partial if it's full um we don't foresee a full vaccine that would be able to stop it um any time in the immediate future from all the calls that we've had that I've had with um the uh health and Human Services and experts and we have them weekly and get updates weekly so um and we don't wanna rush. Make sure that whatever is put out there is effective and useful and so I think that's something else to keep in mind is uh we don't want to announce that we have some kind of a vaccine for it. uh if it's not effective and give false hope to people or have people stop using mask in the meantime, let's just make sure we continue to follow the advice of public health officials um if you're sick, stay home, you know wear a mask. I've got one in my let me see if I can reach it. uh one of my mask that I have with my little flower that I put on. Wear a mask. Make sure if you're you're washing it um make sure you're washing your hands. make sure that you're doing everything you can to stay healthy and keep others healthy and so because we don't get to be in person and um because this is my favorite events. What I wanted to do is we end here We're gonna end with a slideshow uh to take you down memory lane with our slideshow from our previous events that we've had in Carson um for this event and this. We'll also feature music from the Cal State Dominguez Hills Jazz Band, led by Doctor Avery so enjoyed the slideshow as we end this um and please stay safe and stay healthy. Hopefully we'll see you next year in person. Take care everybody. Buh bye. Music. There is no one. love is far away too. That you love me as. Where that it's where you are somewhere where there's I'm near how far the darkest night will shine if you would come to me soon, you will still my heart. How High the Moon. But Bye. But you don't know.
