It was ninety-nine years ago today when women were granted the right to vote via the adoption of the 19th Amendment. I can think of no better way to honor the suffragettes’ monumental achievements than to build upon them. I will continue fighting for women’s equality through policies like the Paycheck Fairness Act, the FAMILY Act and the Healthy Families Act. Women deserve equal pay for equal work, and every worker deserves access to paid family leave, medical leave, and sick days.
