Help raise money for Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo.
The tiger cubs are taking a little nap right now, so it’s a good time to ask you for all your questions about them. We’ll be posting a video with their zookeepers to respond to what you want to know, so please ask your questions in the comments below. Shhhhh. The babies are sleeping... 💤
Because cubs gotta play
Its lunchtime at the Zoo. Hey, Zuele, aren’t you going to share?

I actually got married here a week ago. If you are looking for a wedding venue stop- talk to Lindsay here at the zoo and your search is over! All venue payment proceeds go back to the zoo and towards ...the animals, so your wedding can actually help with animal conservation! How awesome is that? The staff are so professional and so so fun. The zoo is well maintained and gives a great sense of community. Whether you're spending a day with family or like me- need to find a place to tie the knot- the Beardsley Zoo is fantastic! See More

The zoo's mission is to help preserve endangered species. They do a wonderful job with their passion and knowledge and volunteer help. The cost of feeding is astronomical, and without state assistance..., the zoo depends on donations and grants to provide for the animals in their care. Why not take a moment to give whatever you can - every little bit helps. Visit their website, click on the donate link and help. See More

My fiance and I went there the other day over all it was a good experience but there are a couple things that could have been better. First, we got there as soon as it opened to miss traffic and so it... wasn't so busy with people...not all of the animals were out in their areas like the buffalo( was really looking forward to seeing them). Maybe you can start a thing where if you come before 10:30 you get a special deal to compansate for it.The holes to climb into for the Prairie dogs exhibit should have been cleaned. They were filled with cobwebs and trash. The rainforest exhibit was horrible in the beginning, as soon as I opened the door all I could smell was ammonia. There should be a fan or something to get rid of the smell. Also the bats you have to look at in that exhibit should be in a separate dark room with other animal like it so you can actually see them. I couldn't see them due to glare from the light behind me from the other animals. The food was good and I like the fact you had a spot to feed at least the goats. I had fun feeding the animals and so did the kids that I saw. I think that you should have more spots where you can be more hands on to either feed or touch the get the kids attention and have fun. We have gone to this Zoo for years and loved it. Lots of animal sculptures and wandering peacocks, not to mention the carousel. The only thing I would change is the size of the exhibit for the Tigers.

Love the Beardsley Zoo this is our second year having a membership! My 3 year old twins have been coming since they learned how to walk. It is a nice size not too big and we love to go in the morning ...when it is still cool and we can see the animals the most active and being fed! We leave by lunchtime and have done most of the zoo. They always have staff members that are happy to answer any of my boys questions. On our last trip yesterday my guys were thrilled to see the twin girl baby Lynx out playing! They were excited that there are twins born to animals too! We try and go every few weeks and always learn something new each time. See More

A sad"zoo" with not many animals to see. The animals don't have too far to roam and really are just lying around or pacing back and forth. I realize it's small but perhaps change the a ope of the anim...als to accommodate for this. The wolves had a nice aaa and were the only animals that really had enough space. Nice gift shop and staff and souvenirs. Convenient to get to and find. Lovely lake and park, paddle boats would be a nice touch. See More

I have been going to Beardsley Zoo since I was little and always loved it. I recently visited because my son's brother(on his dad's side) passed away. He loved animals so much. When we left his mom, D...awn Gallagher, left a message explaining y we there, in honor of Dean Chambers Jr. They are now honoring him on a brick with his name on it. That is exactly what he would've wanted. Thank u so much. See More

It's a good zoo and showcase's North and South American animals well. I brought my 3 yr old and it was just big enough for him. We did kind of speed through it but it took us a good 2 hours to do that.... He wanted to see more animals though. Also, I only saw like a few places to eat and wish there were more options. Some of the exibits felt far enough for animals but too far for us to see them See More

This was our first trip to this Zoo. We were able to save some money by using passes from the library for reduced admission. The park was very clean, and the exhibits were well cared for. I loved the ...layout. There are so many places to sit and rest, or to pack a picnic lunch and eat. Lots of shady areas and a little sprinkler for the kids to run through. The carousel was beautiful and the operator was wonderful with the kids and parents. I would highly recommend this Zoo! We will definitely be visiting again soon See More

Family weekend trip to Connecticut. Did the zoo yesterday with my mom, son, daughter-in-law and four granddaughters. We had a really good time and I took a ton of pictures. I liked the guides at the a...nimals that told you about them and they answered all of the girls questions. Well worth the price of admission! See More

Most enclosures were empty. Difficult to see the animals in the areas that had animals. Seemed to be poorly up keep. We were disappointed we went on a weekday there was very little staff. Don't usuall...y post negative comments but wish we knew before we planned our day here. Not a great experience 4 year old had more enjoyable time on animal statues then trying to look for the live animals. See More

Had a great time yesterday with my Dad, his friend, and my 2 grandsons. It was hot out and with two toddlers we saw the whole loop in about 2 hours which was perfect timing for naps. Will have to go b...ack again and show them the merry go round. See More

Not getting a 5 because there's no reason they should have a domestic cat locked in a hot room all day and it's only allowed to roam the park at night when no one is around. Aside from that, my son an...d I had a great time. See More

Hello from one of our maned wolf pups! Did you know: the maned wolf is not really a wolf, but neither is it a fox. It is a canid, and the only species in the genus Chrysocyon, meaning “golden dog.” Now you know!

Amur tigers, like our cubs Reka and Zeya, are very rare. Today’s tigers are thought to occupy less than seven percent of their original range. Threatened by habitat loss and degradation, poaching, human-tiger conflict, and loss of prey, four of nine tiger subspecies have disappeared from the wild just in the past hundred years. The future of the Amur Tiger is a major concern of accredited zoos. We’re working to save these beautiful animals for our grandchildren’s grandchildren.
