"Turnout in 2010 was less than two-thirds with 65.8% of registered voters turning out to vote. This year the election saw a whopping increase in turnout of 0.3 percentage points at 66.1%. That means that 15.7 million people (enough to fill Wembley Stadium more than 174 times) did not vote in 2015."

"Under our Parliamentary system, the test for whether a Prime Minister can govern or not is whether he (or she) commands a majority in the House of Commons. Once it’s clear to the Prime Minister that he no longer does so, by convention he should resign."

"... in this election it is the Conservatives who are most aggressively employing the constitution for party ends. Time will tell whether this helps the Party achieve its short-term goal of securing a return to No 10—but we will have to wait longer to see whether the tactic has a corrosive effect on the body politic."
