Beau was super easy to work with and the pictures he took are beautiful. He came to our location (he helped us pick the best day based on the tide), he guided us though the pictures and was fun and ea...sygoing. We had three kids with us and from the beginning he helped us have a fun pleasant experience instead of creating tension when the kids were not collaborating . I have worked with many photographers before, and I can say that Beau (and his wife) were amongst the best. See More

Hired Beau to photograph our family on vacation at Los Suenos, Costa Rica. We received the referral from the Mariott. I found Beau to very easy to work with setting up our photo shoot for New Years Da...y. He selected 2 locations to meet our needs and worked with us on creating theme for the shoot. At the last minute, I had realized that I had neglected to think ahead in ordering a particular prop for the photo. On very short notice, Beau came to rescue and provided just what we needed. Our entire family is delighted with the results and highly recommend Beau Maisel for any photographic event requiring a professional and creative touch. See More

Scarlet Macaws in an almond tree, a common sight here in Esterillos Oeste, Costa Rica.
Yesterday I shot a wedding where the bride was brought in on an ox cart. My heart was in my throat as all I prayed the beasts stay calm. The last time I saw this "tradition" was ten years ago when the Oxen got spooked and tore off down the busy beach of Tamarindo and into the crowded street towards the center of town with the bride and her mother along for the ride! One of the guests stole a bicycle and jumped to the cart like Indiana Jones only to realize there were no reigns or any way to stop it. The groom stood at the alter stunned in disbelief. I dug up the video from the archive:

Esterillos, Costa Rica is experiencing glowing waves! The biological light (bioluminescence) in the waves is the product of marine microbes called phytoplankton.

Who would of thought a sleepy little fishing village was blessed with such musical skill and talent.
