Slight design change on one of my previous rings. I liked the look of the design before but after wearing a few times I found that it would get tangled in my hair which I didn't like so I changed it a little.
In one of my Wire Wrap Jewelry groups, someone had asked the question, "Does anyone else have a picture of their first pendant they ever made?" and included a picture of their first and most recent creations.
It got me to looking at my photos of the pieces I've created and I was a little surprised to find that I had created my first piece in January of 2016. I would have sworn it was 2017 but a photo with a timestamp proved I was wrong.
That first year, 2016, I only played... with jewelry making a little bit. During the entire year I only made 2 or 3 pieces. It wasn't until November of 2017 that I really started getting serious about jewelry making and began working and improving my knowledge and skills daily.
Below is a photo of a piece i created in January 2016 and a set I created in January 2018. What a difference daily training makes.
A thunderstorm is coming but I'm not worried. I made a quick trip to the local craft store and found 100 meters of cording and lots of different colors of glitter. Oh what fun I can have with these.
What did I do with the left over resin from my last project? I made faux crystals out of it. This project was my first time working with resin and, obviously, my first time working with the crystal shaped silicon mold. While I was able to get all of the bubbles out of my main project, I see I will need to practice a little more on my pour technique with the mold for the crystals.
My design for Week 3 of the Year of Jewelry Project. The theme for this week was Brazil.
