The snow has gone, and things have pretty much got back to normal, yes, we have rain today, a lot of it lol.. Here is a photo I took a couple of weeks ago, the... late night passenger ferry, alongside at Kingswear, waiting to cross the river back to Dartmouth. A 4 second exposure, I've always been drawn to reflections on water...

And a poem from Kevin Pyne below :

And then the snow came
And the country went
Whir whir fut fut...
And wouldn't start again

The roads became blocked
And the schools closed down
As every one scrambled
To buy more loafs they
Could ever possibly eat
Just in case for more then
A day it hung around

After which a couple of
Prominent politicians
Took the opportunity
To appear and tell us
The obvious about coping
with snow
On prime time TV

Then the Dunkirk
Spirit was evoked
When just like then
We were caught on
The retreat with rubbish
Equipment and couldn't cope

And while mothers with
Small children and pensioners
Were given priority
What was the point when
We don't buy warm coats
And boots hats and gloves
But spend all our time
And money
On compute games
And booze or watching
Reality shows on huge flat
Screen TVs

Mind you probably best
That we leave Europe
Any way
Because while we
Went to peaces and our
Trains couldn't run nor our
Airplanes fly away
They just carried on even
If it had snowed just like
Any normal day

But if you had skies
And poles and boots
You could make your way
Even on the main highways
Because once again
Nature had shown us
Just how snow could
Paralyze the country
And it's hub and core
As it can and will always

A few lambs were born
While farmers
Got on their tractors
And just carried on
While as ever in two or
Three days it turned
In to slush and most
Of it was completely gone

Meanwhile the gritting
Teams went home with
Large pay packets
And those with skis
Put their exploits on
Social media and their
Skis back in the attic
