Just takes a minute, simply click on the link and it will ask for your zip code, then your address, then your name and your legislator will be sent a message requesting they co-sponcer the Workplace Accommodations for Nursing Mothers Act. Currently, federal law requires employers to provide nursing mothers who are hourly wage-earners ("non-exempt" employees) reasonable break time and a private, non-bathroom location to express breast milk for one year after the child's birth.... However, this provision does not cover "exempt" (most salaried) employees. This distinction in the law was unintentional and is causing confusion for employers and employees alike. A large portion of the workforce, including most managers, administrators, school teachers and other professionals, are left uncovered.
Please share in the comments if you sent it to your legislator. Thanks!

Our mission is to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding as the cultural norm in Dauphin County. At this meeting we will create a plan of action on how to handle concern from a mom who was told to go to the bathroom to nurse by a security guard at Hershey Park.
We welcome nurses, doctors, dietitians, lactation consultants, clergy, WIC staff, office staff, community leaders, employers, day care workers, students, and breastfeeding mothers! Everyone is invited! And babies are always welcome.
